Of course Nashville says it, they have a vested interest. I will believe it when it doesn't come out of a town one of the teams comes from.

I think the big12 expands before march. Texas's hand will be forced since TCU and Baylor gotnjumped by a team with a terrible loss because of a championship game.

What about BYU, Colorado State, Boise?

Even if it goes to 8 this still drives it. Especially with multi champs

Byu has lost some cache due to their inability to change. Boise is too small and I don't think they want to go west due to wv

What vested interest does ESPN radio out of Nashville have??? The city of Nashville and their market do NOTHING for Memphis and most of the people that live their hate Memphis because they are in the middle of the beloved SEC territory. I know Cincy gets nothing out of Nashville. So what is this so called vested interest you speak of????

Either they expand OR get NCAA legislation passed that would allow them to have a CCG with 11.

If they expand, let's remember that it isn't just going to be for football prowess. They don't really need a team that is strong today, they just need a team. It's going to be the school that the members could consider peers.

I think Cincy could get the most teams to consider them to be peers. I don't know about Memphis. I don't know about UCF. I know that ECU has at least 1 team that's willing.

It's going to be really difficult to get Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma to go along with an addition though (Baylor and TCU would also be pretty finicky).

Like I said, when it comes from a reputable source and not talk radio and from a location not located in a market that is playing to the local populace I will take it seriously.

The NCAA will this time allow a championship game among the current members. The paradigm has changed since they denied it. They don't want to expand.

Damn it can we just have stability for a few years? Navy still hasn't even started yet.

One year of decent football isn't good enough to get Memphis into the Big 12. It would be Cincinnati and BYU that would be added. The schools with the most history of success, biggest fanbases, more or less in the footprint, and have above par basketball history as well.

Same source. They just parroted what the Nashville radio guy said. Don't think it's true, but who knows? Memphis folks will tell you they know, but you know....

I would say this would be the first option before they look to spread that money to additional teams.

BYU would be an option, BUT I have a feeling that if they wanted to be in the Big XII, they would've been there already.

Boise is good, but I don't think anyone wants to consider them a peer. I don't think Colorado State has anybody willing to lobby for them right now.

Also, the BIG XII has a vested interest against West Coast expansion: WVU. I'd think they'd work to help them out.

While expansion is a possibility, there is a possibility of contraction. The SEC, ACC, Pac 12, and Big 10 could absorb the Big XII and reduce the number of conferences.

I would agree with this if it actually happens, the only hitch I see is that BYU turns down their offer. I am not familiar, do they have a self sustaining TV deal like ND that they don't want to lose?

No. It seems that we are looking at a CUSA part III if the raid occurs.

I wish them good luck if if happens and will hold no ill will..but..I hope this does not occur.

Baylor and TCU got jumped because Baylor's OOC was the weakest in the country (rank #128) and they beat TCU head-to-head... the committee has said since it was created SOS matters! Ohio State had the better SOS and beat another highly ranked team overwhelmingly yesterday to get the nod!
