Would you rather be remembered as the man that led a university through a challenging time and into great success or one that tore down something so many people worked hard to build before it could reach its full potential?
Let's say this is in Watts' hands, would he rather gain thousands of supporters or make thousands of enemies? Assuming he wants to take from athletics and the undergraduate programs to build up the medical side does he just assume everyone will then throw their support behind his new plan?
The greatest leaders are remembered for building, not tearing down.

Well, the BoT are dismantling UAB and plan to turn it back into an extension center. We got too uppity with all that education stuff. They'll pirate the programs they want and what are we going to be able to do about it?
