Most fun regular season - brovol - 11-29-2014 07:34 AM

While there were certainly some low points, including yesterday's second half, I don't recall enjoying a regular season more than I did this year. Probably the low expectations had much to do with that, but watching the team develop and get better, and seeing them with such enthusiasm, and following Fleck in that regard, then watching that manifest into the energy on the field, was special. Moreover, there is more optimism for the program, with such a young group, and a bright pack of recruits on the way.

I love the style of play. It's aggressive but smart, on both sides of the ball. Yesterday's game notwithstanding, the play calling has been dang near perfect, and hasn't let defenses predict what's coming next.

I am very much looking forward to the bowl, but even more so looking forward to next year and beyond. Perhaps yesterday's loss will make it less likely Fleck or his coaches go anywhere. If so, that's a fantastic silver lining.

This team in fun to watch, and makes be proud. Great job fellas and coaches!!! Keep up the tremendous job you all have been doing.

Totally agree.

Nicely said.... I think the performance yesterday will be a teaching moment for Fleck just like the Toledo game. It's going to make them a better team. Next years out of conference will be tough but I really look for the Broncos to battle Toledo and NIU next year Toledo is going to be tough but I'm convinced that we can beat NIU. Next Year fan expectation will be very high.

Probably a learning experience for both players and coaches. I had no problem with going for it on fourth down yesterday; in fact I believe that was the right call, all things considered, and 75%of the time we make that. But I do think the play calling in the second half was not just too conservative, but was way out of character for this team. And it didn't play to our strength. But like we have said, learn and don't make same mistakes next time. The nice thing is, and one of the things I like about Fleck, I think he and the team will remember these mistakes. Both coach and players all very young, with more than just a big upside, and there is a learning curve.

I can't even imagine how crazy with excitement this board will be in the month leading up to the start of next season. Ya baby!!!! Somebody Stop Me!!!!!!!

After what I've seen this season, both high and low, I think Fleck still has a lot of work to do here. I really don't think he leaves this season or next season given the difficulty of the schedule.

Yesterday, we were one average-Corey-Davis game away from having both a top-5 rusher AND a top-5 receiver this year!!

I dunno. I'm still licking my wounds right now. If it wasn't for having to help babysit Kinky Kurt's relative last night, I would have chased & porked a pig as a ritual self-sacrifice for a Frustrating loss and disappointing end to a Good season.

If I see a girl out tonight wearing a CMU or Toledo shirt, all bets are off. I'm still stewing over the game. SIGH.

As is often the case 'round these parts, brovol nailed it. Agree 100% with the assessment.

Tis a fun time to be a Bronco fan. I'm definitely looking forward to the next few years at Waldo.

Now, let's go finish the season in style and get that elusive first bowl win! 04-cheers

Agree on all counts. An 8 win season including a win in CMU's house is always enjoyable, despite how ugly the final 30 minutes of our last game went.

I still say the biggest play of the season was stopping Ball State inside our 10 yard line to secure the comeback. If BSU completed that pass and won that game, that'd be two consecutive heartbreakers and I'm not sure the rest of the season goes as well from there.

Watching the NIU game on replay...man that 1st half was fun. Despite multiple mistakes, for the most part, we were laying down 2014 Bronco Ball hot and heavy.

Maybe throw out that halftime speech.

Can't wait to see our boys play in a bowl game fully charged. We could really lay it on some poor team for our first ever bowl win.

Can't wait to see JF after another offseason of chocolate milk. He could reemerge as Evil JF and carry the whole MSU defense for multiple touchdowns at Waldo! 02-13-banana
