One bad EMU OL.

RE: Toledo - In Game - emu steve - 11-28-2014 01:51 PM

Ugh!!! McFadden hurt in his last college game. :(

Toledo - In Game - EAGLE KING - 11-28-2014 01:56 PM

Faster, stronger, more disciplined, better decisions, just as expected.

EMU 40, Cal State (Fullerton) 26. in women's hoops. :)

EMU needs football players. Hard to compete when every opponent has more talent.

There's a lot of QUIT in this team.

RE: Toledo - In Game - TheWoodenNickle - 11-28-2014 02:34 PM

The RE hangover continues. He recruited good athletes but not footbal players.

Hard to tell if they quit or if the other teams are just so much more talented. My guess is the latter. CC can safely promise playing time to any legit defensive recruit.

It's a 30 year hangover. When the competitve discrepancy between EMU and the top MAC teams is greater than Alabama-Vanderbilt, it's time to find a new conference or just get out of football. This is completely asinine. Year in year out...ENOUGH.

RE: Toledo - In Game - Bob Wickersham - 11-28-2014 03:04 PM

UT Radio halftime update guy making fun of Rynearson, calling it the "Concrete Crypt."

So now for the third straight week, EMU has to rely on their opponent to take pity on them and call off the dogs. Embarrassing.

RE: Toledo - In Game - emu steve - 11-28-2014 04:07 PM

Highlight of the game?

The UT center snaps the ball early and the EMU DL is unabated to the QB.

EMU Football 2014 Season, RIP.

Next up: Recruiting visits next weekend...

What I 'learned' about EMU football is that there is no messiah, no cook book to follow, etc. (I'll explain).

Folks seem to think that at most schools (including EMU?) a new head coach can perform miracles if we only get the 'right man.'

Folks also seem to have their pre-conceived notion of whom that miracle worker should be. Should he be a lower level head coach? An assistant coach at the FBS level? A coordinator at the FBS level? (Actually the best coaches in the MAC have been assistant coaches who took over when their successful HC left for a bigger job).

So we are pretty much where we were 12 months ago. Is this our third straight 2-win season? We beat a FCS team and catch a FBS team napping or out manned. Couple years ago it was Army. Last year WMU. This year UBuffalo.

Different HC but still roughly the same team. BobW might say "I've seen this movie three times (in the last three years)."

RE: Toledo - In Game - Bob Wickersham - 11-28-2014 06:19 PM

No coach worth a damn will take this job. There are just too many hurdles to overcome. I have seen enough of a sample size to declare that it is impossible to win at football at EMU. It will never happen.

EMU basketball is a different story-it should be easy to win here. It is a great mid-major job. But come on , EMU football? It will never, ever happen.

If they're not quitting then they truly SUCK.

That went about as expected. But I didn't see that the team quit. We are just that bad.
