"This time last year, they were doing just that. THEN MSU won the Egg Bowl, and they wanted to name a; building after him. He even was bold enough to say that as long as the trophy was in Starkville, his job was secure at MSU.
I believe that Mullen spends 365 days a year planning insults, innuendo, and bodily harm to Ole Miss. It is not so much about winning an athletic contest as it is hurting the opponent.
He has perpetuated and refined the hatred for Ole Miss that Sherrill established in his beady-eyed reign at MSU. Sherrill could not even pretend to be a gentleman. In fact I think Mullen's inferiority complex has fueled the hatred to record levels. At some point HATRED won't be enough.
And you wonder why Finebaum would say that right now MSU is just not respected across the nation? ANYBODY can sport GOLD teeth, shoes, and face masks and declare themselves invincible. Every school can adopt the cowbell and make for a real noise filled game, but who wants to be identified by a cowbell? Nobody admires MSU for the cowbell. It's tacky!
Anybody can show blatant disrespect for a rival team and even say on television to reporters that he hates the Institution Ole MIss. That is so unprofessional and juvenile. SO CLASSLESS! BUT ONLY Mullen can lower it to a seventh grade slug out after school on the playground with name calling and condescending comments. ONLY Mullen can create an atmosphere of seething hatred for an entire year. I mean, think about it, the Egg Bowl trophy is job security #1 for Mullen. His vision for MSU is so MYOPIC that he needs a see-and- eye Bulldog to lead him around. He makes Ole Miss look like the most important thing in MSU football. Is he really that insecure in who he is? Is he saying that beating Ole Miss is the high water mark for his football team?
Surely most Bulldogs fans want much more than beating Ole Miss in football, basketball, or baseball on a regular basis. Why would an athletic director allow that arrogant blowhard, Mullen, to declare he will NOT call us by name...that he cannot say Ole Miss? Does anyone think that this is classy behavior? is it good sportsmanship?
Does anyone else see that as an inferiority complex? Is he really so insecure about Ole Miss that he will resort to such childishness? That is not even a smart coaching strategy much less professional. Maybe it's what MSU wants. Maybe they want it more than respect from the rest of the world.
We are indeed fortunate to have a man like Freeze leading the young men on the Ole Miss football team"

A fan of a school with the hideous insulting nickname...ole miss...and all that stands for historically, let alone the rebel flags and the battle over the rebel mascot...refers to Mullen and the Moo fanbase as classless.

And yes...dripping inferiority complex from a school that rioted after an upset over Alabama.

It's so funny when they talk about state like that, bc state own them recently. They can say what they want but they want to beat state just as badly as state wants to beat them. Every black bear I know will thump their chest whenever they beat state in something. But, if it's vice versa you get the comments above.
