It's official. Josh Pastner has nuked the program - Malachi - 11-18-2014 03:55 PM

Anyone who didn't see this coming must have been blind.

This is what we need to hope for. - MemTiger90 - 11-18-2014 03:58 PM

As much as it will hurt, we HAVE to lose at least 15 games. We need to lose both against Uconn, SMU, Cincy. We need to lose to Okla State and Gonzaga. And we need to lose a few games to small teams. We need to make the NIT and lose in an opening round. That is the ONLY way Pastner's seat will get legitimately hot. If we screw around and win a few big ones this year and make the tourney, he will get to stay. As long as he's here, it's mediocracy.

i said it before ....the worst thing to happen to the tiger program since the hiring of Tic Price, was CJP beating Louisville twice last year

I agree.

We also need to boycott games

He has managed to make Memphis Tiger basketball irrelevant.

Hideous beyond hideous.

Based on what I've seen so far, this will be Pastner's last season here.

Yep

Official? Wow. Was there a public hearing advertised in a newspaper of general circulation and at least two readings? I didn't know "nuking" a program required an official action.

First game I saw, we were a Williams 3 away from beating Kansas. I could never have imagined that, 5 years later, he would produce a product this poor.

The opposite of love isn't hate, it's apathy.

And realistically speaking..who would have come in when he did and held things together? No one wanted the job.

I agree....the big $$ donors didn't create a buyout they weren't willing to cough up. They're smarter than that.

Barring a 180 this season (and anything's possible), I hope Bowen is starting to get a list together. Maybe Fuente has some buddies who coach basketball?

RE: I hope all you coach paster lovers are happy... - RCM1029 - 11-18-2014 04:13 PM

I like coach Pastner. He simply wasn't ready for this job. We are simply reaping what RC (and, gasp, the Ambassadors) have sown. Of course, back then none of us thought we had any other options.

He is a nice guy.

And our team is learning. Good or bad, I'll still love them and be glad to be a Tiger fan.
