CBS sports updated Bowl Projections - Swearingen20 - 11-16-2014 09:45 AM

I really hope CBS is wrong with their bowl projections..........they now have Memphis playing BYU in Miami on Dec 22nd. That would be one of the bowl games that would kill the chance for most Memphis fans to make it to the bowl game.

I'm still holding out hope for one of these bowls in this order.........Independence, Birmingham, Liberty. Quick drive and all fall on a dy that would make it easy for Memphis fans to go spend a couple of days there.

That would be a joke of a game.

RE: CBS sports updated Bowl Projections - 72Tiger - 11-16-2014 09:58 AM

Miami bowl will be empty no matter who plays there. UCF would bring the most fans. Just a horrible locale for a minor bowl IMO.

RE: CBS sports updated Bowl Projections - Swearingen20 - 11-16-2014 10:04 AM

It will stink since the game is only 3 days before Christmas.

It's made for TV.

I agree it would be a nice reward for the team ( yes, especially te seniors and redshirt juniors)

Nice problem for us to have: discussing which bowl we're going to.

That's a Triple A question. He has an innate ability to understand the sub surface currents of college athletics. When he posts He's usually correct.

Y'all need to quit fantasizing about the Liberty Bowl

CBS sports updated Bowl Projections - tnzazz - 11-16-2014 11:04 AM

I just don't want to play BYU. They aren't the same team without their QB

Agreed.

The hometown bowl wants visitors staying for a few days spending money on hotels, meals, tourism. It's a major economic boost for the area.

As others pointed out, the reward for the players would be the travel, ideally to a dome or warm weather site. I'm reasonably sure that the players would be unanimous in voting for Miami Beach, LOL.

Three days. 72 hours. Plenty of time.

Memphis - Birmingham
Cincy - Miami Beach
ECU - Military
UCF - St Pete
Houston - Armed Forces
Temple - Duck Commander?

That's my guess

Isn't it's a lot easier to be a positive paul when the results are positive? That's why I was always laugh when Pastner wants people to be positive Paul's right after he's done pinching a loaf on the court.

Good luck beating Ole Miss or Mizzou...

RE: CBS sports updated Bowl Projections - Swearingen20 - 11-16-2014 02:38 PM

I do know the Independence Bowl would love for the Tigers to fall in their lap if the SEC does not have enough teams!!! That would be a PERFECT set up for most Memphis fans.

He's probably like me and needs it to fall either between Christmas and New Years or on a weekend. I'll be going wherever from Texas and it's looking more and more like I'm either going to have to take personal days or miss the bowl game all together.

I know the Bowl game, location, team they are playing and the swag the players get is more of a reward for the players and staff, BUT it sure helps when it is in a location and on a day where they can bring 15,000 of their best friends to come cheer them on!!!
