11/8 CFB - At Ease - 11-08-2014 04:39 PM

Toad is routing Notre Dame.

RE: 11/8 CFB - Frizzy Owl - 11-08-2014 04:46 PM

A&M leading Auburn 21-14 in second quarter. Game clock not working, time being kept on field. Unusual in this day and age.

RE: 11/8 CFB - At Ease - 11-08-2014 04:47 PM

UTEP up early over WKU 17-7

RE: 11/8 CFB - Frizzy Owl - 11-08-2014 05:00 PM

Clock working again, but 28-14 Aggies.

Aggies block a FG attempt just before the half and run it back. 35-17 Aggies at the half.

ND came back within 3, but ASU just sealed it with a pick 6.

FIU and ODU tied at 35. FIU had the ball with a minute left. ODU with the interception. ODU has a first down at the FIU 33 with 23 seconds left and two timeouts. ODU with the 28-yard field goal to win the game 38-35.

RE: 11/8 CFB - Fort Bend Owl - 11-08-2014 07:14 PM

Bad loss for UH against Tulane. Aggies about ready to give up the lead late to Auburn.

RE: 11/8 CFB - At Ease - 11-08-2014 07:17 PM

Auburn fumbles at the 2 with 2:37 left and down by 3-- wow.

RE: 11/8 CFB - dragon2owl - 11-08-2014 07:17 PM

WKU beats UTEP, 35-27.

And Auburn just fumbled inside the 5. Aggies ball with 2:37 to play and a 3 point lead.

Incredible mistakes by Auburn at the end.

Nice. I would have taken the safety instead of punting from my own 1 (and maybe burned a little more clock) but it worked out pretty good for them anyway.

Too bad no Bayou Bucket this year. No question who would have won that... Coogs really down this year.

RE: 11/8 CFB - Fort Bend Owl - 11-08-2014 09:23 PM

If Alabama loses to LSU, Mississippi State will be the only undefeated (or even 1 loss) SEC team. And they still have to play at Alabama and Ole Miss. It will be interesting to see how the SEC campaigns for a second playoff team. But the fact of the matter is they might not even get one team in if they keep beating up on each other.

We'd have to show that we've figured out Deontay Greenberry can't be covered by a safety to make that prognostication...

2 fumbles in Auburn's last 4 snaps. Auburn has a flair for the dramatic, good and bad.

I was thinking the same thing at the time.

Alabama just ran 8 plays covering 55 yards and then kicked a field goal to tie the score all in 47 seconds?

That's just over 5 seconds per play. This included two separate completions for 6 yards each on first downs and a 5 yard run. There was only one apparent spike of the football to stop the clock.

Is this possible or is there a Soviet timekeeper in Baton Rouge?

(And to make matters worse LSU might have won the game in regulation having recovered on the Alabama 6 yard line, but incurred a 15 yard unsportmanslike conduct penalty on the first play from scrimmage and eventually settled for a field goal. It was only the second recorded penalty by LSU in the entire game.)
