Basketball Season - tigers1985 - 11-03-2014 09:30 PM

I'm loving the competitive, enjoyable football and I am developing high hopes for this season and especially next football season. But, with the colder weather, I must admit that it has hit me in the last few days... it is almost time for Memphis Tigers basketball. And I am happy.

I don't know what to expect from the backcourt, but I know we have talent. Talent is a great place to start.

Let's go Tigers! Shock the Shockers! Shock the American!! Shock the country!!!

Go Tigers, Beat Temple..........04-cheers

I'll get excited the day of our first game. Way too much into football to get excited early about basketball, especially when we're likely to get our azzes kicked by Wichita State.

It's November. It's early enough for me. I'm happy about football. Very excited actually. But if we are two weeks from Tigers hoops, I am aware and getting hyped. Wichita...? One win looks like it gets us ranked. A loss costs us nothing. I'm ready for a season of unexpected upside.

RE: Basketball Season - Tigermaniac - 11-03-2014 11:03 PM

I've been excited.

We may very well lose to Wichita State, but since they lose 4 of their top 8 players and they return no proven inside game I'm not willing to just hand it to them. I think we'll surprise some people.

They will more than likely be playing mostly 3 guard line ups. With our size I'm thinking it'll be similar to how our Cincy match ups went.

Of course I'm a biased homer and could be 100% wrong.

Hey, I've suffered through decades of lousy Tiger football. I'm wringing all the fun out of this season I can get. I'll still be up for the WSU game and beyond. Just not yet. Plus, I have no real expectations for our BB team this year, beyond just enjoying the games.

That's the spirit.

Pookie is the key.

You probably did not have high expectations for FB team either but look what happened.

We should just cancel the season

I was just wondering, does anyone know who will be the starters in the backcourt this year? I don't know much about some of the new players we have. Thanks.

I remember how he got a standing O from some of the kids when he came off the court in Canada. Endurance was pretty spectacular there at the end.... he had little rest but was steady.

How about Kuran?

It's a steady debate at this point--so debated that I forget the popular conclusion.
Can't wait to see who takes the floor against the Shockers.

I think Iverson needs a couple of reliable post moves to be really good. I thought that his basketball IQ has improved quite a bit and he seems to have a great attitude. I don't know if this late in the game he can learn to be a post player. Regardless, at a minimum, he should help us a lot this year at the 3.

Vegas giving 200-1 on us winning the NC. I think I'm gonna lay down a batwing.
