That show is a sore spot for memphians.

Memphis gets plenty of airtime on 1st 48, Cops, and Gangland.

Nothing to do with airtime.

I understand and do think that there is a Memphis story to be told, though some of it may be in retrospect.

That's not what the issue is either. Nothing against Nashville as a show (although I don't watch it).

Coincidentally, the memphis independent film festival is going on right now.

Thanks for the link, I didn't know all of that. I guess Memphis had its run with the Grisham novels and Cast Away.

I was in that one!

My daughter had a bit part in My Blueberry Nights with Jude Law that was filmed in Memphis, maybe five or six years ago?

While I'm salty about the way the TN film commission has screwed Memphis & handed everything to Nashville, I will admit to watching & liking that one particular show......but I've been a big Connie Britton fan since Friday Night Lights.

Anna Kendrick & Jim from the Office were just here a few months ago filming something; not sure what.

Dont think they were filming here. Pretty sure they're filming down in the Delta and he just brought her up here to go to Graceland for her birthday.

It's one of the reasons I don't watch. She'll aways be Tammie Taylor to me. Also, it appears to be too much of a soap opera. Also, I don't like Nashville the city and can't imagine I'd like the show at all.

It's definitely a soap opera. But she's the reasonable one usually, just like Tammy Taylor.

Well, then! If you hate Nashville, now, here is another reason to hate us.

Nashville is adding another reality TV show to its list with the debut of “Vanderbilt MDs,” which premieres tonight on the USA network at 10 p.m.

The hourlong show follows seven Vanderbilt Medical University Center residents as they live and work together in Music City.

“From high-stakes emergencies to rivalries and romances, this dramatic series explores trying to balance a job saving lives, while still maintaining a life of their own,” according to the USA network website.

The seven residents are William Train, Whitney Endsley, Louis Charles Frazier, Jeremy Adam Greenberg, Lawrence Tyson Heller, Erin McGuinn and Steven ‘Mike’ Salisbury.

Other Nashville reality shows that have popped up in the past year are “Chasing Nashville,” “Crazy Hearts: Nashville” and “Private Lives of Nashville Wives.” “Chasing Nashville” was canceled after four episodes; “Crazy Hearts: Nashville” lasted one season before cancellation; and “Nashville Wives” ended its first season in April.

Don't stir these folks up; they're sensitive about this stuff. I don't know how much more UofMemphis can take before he tells someone to move to North Carolina.
