Gonna be a COLD & SNOWY day in Boone Saturday. Road crews do a fabulous job up there. W Illinois playoff game in 2010 6 inches fell during the game. I had no problem driving a front wheel drive minivan home. Just take it slow and keep a safe distance from the guy in front of you. Everyone be careful headed to the game. Here's the latest from our resident meteorologist, App grad who works for TV station in Charlotte.
8 AM - Snow Likely. Temps in the upper 20s. Winds NW 10-20, G-30+ mph
Noon - Snow Likely. Temps in lower 30s. Winds NW 10-20, G 20+ mph
Kickoff - Chance for snow through the first half. Temps in the lower to mid 30s. Blustery. Gusts to 30+ mph.
1/2 Time - Diminished chance for snow. Mid to lower 30s. Gusty.
End of Game - Lower 30s. Blustery. Slight chance for a flurries, brief burst of snow.
Snow totals 1-4", lighter totals east of Boone, heavier (5-6") closer to TN.
