Just doing some searching, the national feeling is not good for NIU this year, they see WMU and Toledo as the teams to beat without NIU really becoming a factor. Id normally dismiss that, but evidently ESPN insider has a story with some quotes from coaches saying the same thing. I guess there is more weight into that, than from national preview sites. I could see NIU not being included in the Toledo level, but it surprises me that no one sees NIU close to WMU either.

NIU has done nothing to have any one predicting good things for them. They will be picked to finish 3rd in the MAC West tomorrow. I have no doubts that the top 4-teams will end up as Toledo, NIU, WMU and Akron. NIU has been picked bottom 2 for a while now.

I really think NIU is going to go 9-0 or 8-1 in DeKalb during MAC play. I only have two questions that need to be answered.

1. Do you guys have the offense to beat solid teams on the road? @Toledo @WMU @EMU etc...

2. Who emerges as the go to guy. Highsmith? Armstead? Threloff in the post? Bowie? Gotta have at least one alpha dog with stones to take over at times.

Anthony Johnson and Highsmith.
