UH has a chance at the most hollow 9-3 season in the history of college football. They'll probably Coog up a game to go 8-4, but I hate the way we are playing. Temple vs UH was literally 2 HS offenses going against one another. There wasn't a pass of over 5 yards in the first 40 minutes of the game.

I like looking at the Massey numbers each week, so here's what Massey says this week (last week's is quoted at the bottom).

27 Marshall
79 MTSU
80 Louisiana Tech
83 Rice
103 FL Atlantic
105 UAB
108 W Kentucky
109 UT San Antonio
115 Florida Intl
126 UTEP
132 Southern Miss
137 Old Dominion
157 North Texas

This week, LT gets the slight edge in the predicted match up over Rice, as it got a big bump in the numbers while Rice's non-conference slate cost it with their losses. North Texas is heading the wrong way in the rankings.

And the Massey aggregate looks a little different - now, there are 2 other G5 leagues ahead of CUSA (MWC, AAC).

18 Marshall
61 Louisiana Tech
67 MTSU
76 Rice
83 UAB
93 FL Atlantic
95 W Kentucky
96 UT San Antonio
98 UTEP
99 Florida Intl
101 Southern Miss
106 Old Dominion
115 North Texas

Rank Team Record
37 Marshall 6-0
77 Rice 3-3
81 UAB 4-2
90 Louisiana Tech 3-3
91 W Kentucky 2-3
92 MTSU 4-3
101 UT San Antonio 2-4
112 FL Atlantic 2-4
115 Florida Intl 3-4
125 UTEP 3-3
127 North Texas 2-4
143 Old Dominion 3-4
160 Southern Miss 2-4

Massey had Rice as a 7 point favorite last week. Rice did better and made a big jump in the rankings. Rice is favored in every game by at least 64% except Marshall (17%) and Louisiana Tech (51%). That LT game keeps flipping - 2 weeks ago, Rice was slightly favored, last week it was LT, and this week it's back to Rice. Call it a pick em.

Louisiana Tech is favored in 4 games to go, and slight underdogs in the other 2 (at W Kentucky and vs. Rice). But LT doesn't have a conference loss, so Rice needs some help or a big upset at Marshall.

BTW, the Massey aggregate breaks down like this, with C-USA as the #8 conference overall (independents and MWC ahead). This includes up to 99 different rankings averaged together.

21 Marshall
61 Louisiana Tech
65 UAB
76 Rice
77 MTSU
81 W Kentucky
94 UT San Antonio
95 Florida Intl
102 UTEP
103 FL Atlantic
106 Old Dominion
107 North Texas
110 Southern Miss

I like Greg Ward as your QB. I think that he will do very well once he gets a grasp of the offense...or you change OCs. Whichever comes first.
