So, who's ready for basketball season? - DMT - 10-12-2014 04:19 PM

Only a month away, who or what are you guys looking forward to this year?

Someone playing defense.

I'm really looking forward to you getting a new signature, or at least downsizing the one you have.

I'm looking forward to Mick and some semblance of defense

I wish I could make it bigger just because you said that. Still, ISIS or ISIL as the empty suit turned emperor calls it, is stale. I'll find a new one.

Curious to see Ellis and how much Johnson has improved.

This is a very young team that will struggle with defensive positioning early. I anticipate a rough first 2-3 months with improvement by the end of Feb. I expect 18-20 wins and NIT.

20 wins would barely qualify this team for NIT, anything less than that would put them on the NIT bubble I still believe this team will win between 22 and 26 regular season games. Cats are an NCAA tournament level team that might have some clunkers but will have games where they look like a top 15 squad.

Right now my biggest concern is finding a guard that will be the closer. Someone that can handle the ball and make free throws in a close game. My second concern is finding a role for Shaq Thomas. He doesn't defend off the ball very well, his handle isn't good enough to be a guard, and he isn't strong enough to be a power forward. He is a high level athlete but that hasn't translated yet to a consistent college player. I think he can be a solid role player for the team this season but I am not expecting him to become an all conference player. I would love to see 7 to 10 points a game and consistent rebounding and defense.

Always ready for Bearcat BB. I think the latter half of this year and the next couple of years are really going to be fun. The Shoe will be back to rocking.04-rock

This is about where I project the team (in another post I projected the team to finish either with an NIT bid or be one of the last teams in the NCAA tournament). For us to be better, we are going to new guys to be immediate impact players and/or returning guys who averaged single digit statistics to double (and in some cases triple) their past production. I am not saying it can't happen, but that is expecting a lot.

For some good news, we are doing well with season tickets. They are up over last year with still a few weeks to go. $99 is a steal for season tickets.

Ash, do you have anything for someone in a scooter? Where would I park my van and get my scooter to my seat?
