Week 7/Game 6: UMASS @ KSU - 1st meeting @ Dix Stadium

1 of these 2 teams will get their 1st win and hopefully it will be KSU. UMASS scores a lot of points, but gave up a huge lead to Miami of Ohio last weekend.

Per the depth chart, KSU is starting George Bollas @ QB, but Reardon/Strock may be available. Also, Najee Murray and Demetrius Monday return for KSU @ CB, as they have missed time recently with concussions. Devante Strickland has worked his way back from injury and Terrence Waugh & Johntey Byrd have returned to the 2 deep for this week's game as well. Matt Sommers has moved from MLB to the LEO position.

Dave mentions some good news might be ahead for tomorrow @ the QB position and KSU DBs better know exactly where WR Tajae Sharpe is at all times, as he is a big target who leads the MAC in receiving yards.

Strock was going to start but Doctor would not clear him so he is out Reardon has been practicing but very hobbled. QB position not looking good

Sharpe was a KSU commit that flipped to UMass; seems they poached quite a few MAC commits as soon as they joined the MAC.

Don't our neighbors from Summit County also have a WR that flipped from us?

Yes, I believe we got him from Cincy after their coaching change and then he flipped to the Community College down the road.

Brian Rock said 5 different players took snaps this week. Any idea who the fifth QB would have been?

I believe it was Quan Robinson, a freshman CB.

Gotta be a bit smarter and get a play off quick following a reviewable play instead of taking your time and giving them a chance to go to the booth. That overturned call was big.

And another 3rd down you get the defense to jump, snap that ball and take the easy 1st down. Instead we punt...again!

Thanks, he was the QB for Glenville last year.

First game this year. REALLY QUIET. And a sparse crowd. Senderhoff is going to address the crowd in the 3rd quarter. Hopefully that gets the crowd going

Great run by Meray for the TD and lead.

Another drive wasted by going with a gimmick at a crucial point in the game, running a wildcat offense and down a score. Now they score late and get a bigger lead going into the locker rooms. SMH

Wow Colin just ran for a first down. It will be huge to have a mobile Reardon in the 2nd half.

Oh yes.. I remember this feeling. I know what this is. It's being absolutely at the bottom. What a disgrace.

Was planning on hitting the road to see us play Miami in two weeks, but those plans have officially been axed as of today.... I was not in attendance (thank goodness), but there is absolutely no excuses in this one- a home beat down at the hands of UMASS. The only question I have at this point is if this team is worse than the 2005 squad??? How quickly we have fallen... We are gonna get destoyed by Akron next month.... GO BROWNS!!!

RE: Week 7/Game 6: UMASS @ KSU - 1st meeting @ Dix Stadium - ilovegymnast - 10-11-2014 11:10 PM

There was no sense of urgency in the 4th qtr down by 10. They were letting the game clock drop to under 10 seconds while the clock was running. We took less than a handful of shots downfield while UMass was doing it multiple times a drive. I just can't understand the offensive mind set.

Now I was at the game and was a bit confused. There was a holding play on UMass during a long run. They moved them back 10 yards from the spot of the foul which put them 9 yards from the line of scrimmage. They then didn't move the chains and left it 1st and 1. The next play was a 5 yd penalty for 12 men in the huddle. Which led to 1st and 6. Now am I just going crazy or should the first play resulted in a new 1st and 10 which would've led to a 1st and 15 after the 2nd play?
