CheerDad is ready and willing to bring Diesel if NIU gives the OK.

CheerDad is ready and willing to bring Diesel ON THE FIELD if NIU gives the OK.

This shouldn't even be an issue after everything CheerDad and Diesel have given to NIU.

I agree. maybe he can't run the field but he is still a great ambassador for NIU.

He should have an open invitation to every game!!!

Maybe they can find another "handler"

Diesel should have an open invitation to be on the field at any and all games. The kids love Diesel.

As far as I know, Diesel has never been charged with domestic violence, DUI, drug possession or any other code of conduct policy

But I heard he snickered when Bass dropped the piccolo player.

The only thing I can think of is that they want to give an exclusive to Mission. They may think that having Diesel there would confuse the issue. I don't agree with that btw.

You would think. I wonder what the issue could be?

RE: Anymore Diesel sightings? - huskiehog64 - 10-10-2014 11:59 AM

I certainly understand why Diesel needed to retire and am happy that NIU has kept a live mascot with Mission, but I do not like the fact that Mission cant be run across the end zone when NIU scores because he is afraid of loud noises.

So far, NIU is not allowing Diesel on the field Saturday. Think this is terrible!!!

04-cheers

Are you f'n kidding me? CheerDad and Diesel put in a decade of work and they won't allow them on the field!
This has to be a joke!

As did I. He didn't respond. Maybe he's booking a home and home with some MWC team for 2032.

RE: Anymore Diesel sightings? - 17Huskies - 10-10-2014 12:27 PM

Are we ok with with a mascot rotation?

Maybe they want Mission to be allowed to get into the flow and not have to be looking over his shoulder in case he makes a mistake?

Have other schools been able to make a mascot rotation work?

The question is, "Who's the better runner and who's the better chaser?" We can all agree, I think, that Mission is the better runner, and Diesel is the better chaser. So, do you alternate based on the situation? Do you start one and then send in the other as relief? Do you just decide to stick with one? The pressure is just too much. Let's counsel with Coach Carey.
