CAA Trying to Override the vote on NCAA Autonomy - tribe_pride - 10-03-2014 11:54 AM

Looks like all 10 CAA schools plus Vermont, UNH, Houston Baptist and Indiana State are on board. Need 75 schools on board for a revote. The Delaware Rep and a Dartmouth rep were the only naysayers on the original 16-2 vote of the NCAA Board.

President Reveley is quoted in the article.

The 5 Big $ conferences do not give a hoot what any small budget conference or University . They will break off on their own and take ESPN FOX CBS NBC ABC TRU TV HBO NICKELODEON OPRAH or any other media outlet that will televise sports.
Now this could be a political move so the small $ teams will not be cut out off from being on schedules and receiving the pay outs

It's good to see College take a principled stand on this issue. Scholar athletes and their parents choosing the College are probably making the decision based on what the education means 10 - 20years down the road, not because they wish to play for a minor league NFL or NBA franchise and subsidize 7 figure salaries for the coaches of same. The President is out front on this one. I for one would applaud more differentiation with other institutions who only claim to put academics first. BZ
