I'd argue that Knight may add that dimension himself if he's working on shooting in the offseason. While we all appreciate how working the ball inside opens up our offense, we also know how few opportunities there are for back-to-the-basket plays for a big man. Maybe chicken-or-egg, but it's just not a focus we've ever had and potentially one reason Whitman left.

As expected with the twitter and Verbal Commits exposure on the visit and offer, Novakovich appears to have now generated interest from Princeton and New Hampshire. Would expect more, just on our publicized offer.
All assuming our offer is for 2017, and not for 2018. If so, then a quick turnaround and decision for him to make, assuming Jamaica trip in a month when summer session finishes, or roll the dice and take his chances in 2018. Have to believe Tony no longer entertains the prospect of redshirting, given the current state of grad transfers. Question, also, arises with logistics/plausibility of W&M acceptance to fall semester this late in the game.

I noticed that according to Verbal Commits, that the offer for Aleks was for 2018. I wonder if the offer will carry over if he does not commit for 2017??

Our current roster is a talented group of guys. If we are where we'll be, conditioning needs to take a step forward. We should have no problem with going with them as long as they can keep up the pace with other teams physically.
As an old coach of mine used to like to tell us when our tongues were hanging out and we wanted practice to end, games are won at the end. In the past several years we have gotten there with depth, this year there may need to be a new paradigm.

Some additional thoughts on Aleks:
Don Bosco's tuition and fees are north of $16,500 annually which wouldn't include room and board, unless he's living at home and commuting. They are essentially required to take nine college credits at a local community college per term. They play their home games at Indiana University Northwest, where his GF is committed to play as a freshman.
Spend the out of pocket money this year if you think you may get a better local offer, or make a tough decision to leave family and girlfriend, which may be the decision regardless a year from now. William and Mary is a great long term choice, relieves financial pressure, and is a sure thing now.
Considering the other 2018 offers we've already made, I don't think we would have made this an official visit at this point in the summer recruiting unless it was for the 2017 class. If the offer is not accepted, we may still leave it open for 2018, if still in the cards, but if he's coming at all, it makes sense that it's this year, or not at all.
Assume before any announcement, he'd have to get his College acceptance, which I can't imagine has been streamlined to happen overnight. This may be a done deal just pending official approval.

Aleks Novakovich is playing 17U AAU this week with the Wisconsin Playground Warriors at the final UAA session in GA. 0 points and 1 reb in 9 mins in their first game on a low end team in this league play. Could not find where he had played AAU for anybody else this spring/summer before this.

The team is scheduled to play in the remaining 2nd and 3rd July evaluation periods.
Possible he was just fulfilling a prior commitment by playing this week, but, otherwise, doesn't sound like a recruit who has decided to grab a generous offer and run with it in 2017.
Think this year's team is a done deal.
