Roadies - StanMolsonMan - 09-17-2014 10:57 PM

Anyone hitting the road with their teams this season? If so where? And if any homers or people who have made the trip before have any pointers, chime on in.

I am heading to:
1. Clemson
2. Troy (believe it or not my group bought tickets long before ACU)

I went to the GaTech game and you best believe I'm going to be back in Atlanta for the GaState game. My group is going to work on getting tickets next week. Go Eagles!

RE: Roadies - Mtneer84 - 09-17-2014 11:08 PM

I am heading to Statesboro next Thursday and to Troy on October 18th in addition to heading back to Boone for the South Alabama, Georgia State, and ULM games. 02-13-banana

RE: Roadies - YouCanUseaMint - 09-18-2014 12:24 AM

Heading to Tulsa next weekend to watch my Bobcats! Perhaps will hit another one towards the end of the season if we are doing well

RE: Roadies - Eagle22 - 09-18-2014 05:20 AM

Unless work intervenes unexpectedly, heading to all remaining home & away games. Looking forward to seeing some new venues !

Went to the Georgia Tech game. Will be at Da Dome for the Decimation of State. Season ticket holder, so everything at Paulson.

STAN, Clemson fans are some of the WORST in the Southeast. I've been to Death Valley twice as a Tech fan. I'll never go again! No matter if you blow them out or get blown out they will be all over you from the moment you leave the safety of your car to the moment you leave town. I compare that whole fan base to the upper level trash at a UGA game in Sanford Stadium.

Have fun with that!

Atlanta for sure. Trying to swing San Marcos...but its on a Thursday Night, and that would mean taking off work.

RE: Roadies - TheEagleWay - 09-18-2014 05:32 AM

Went to NC State & GT.

Going to South Alabama, Georgia State.

Was planning on going to Tx State, but those plans fell through.

RE: Roadies - Hail The Blue - 09-18-2014 07:41 AM

Went to Georgia Tech, plan on going to Da Dome.

We had around 15,000 fans at the Tech game. I expect we'll have about the same number for State.

RE: Roadies - tx.state - 09-18-2014 07:55 AM

Had tentative plans for Illinois (fell through, not going). Definitely going to Tulsa next weekend. Planning on going to Monroe in a few weeks.

If this conference schedule rotation keeps up, TXST will have either ULM or UL on the road each year. Those within are driving distance from Austin (with Casino pit stops).

I feel like going to home games is a road trip. Three hour drive from my home.

Thanks for the heads up. I had an ex who was a Ole Miss sorority girl, and we went to the Miss/LSU game in Oxford. LSU won, and LSU fans in the upper deck proceeded to throw chair backs on the lower level as fans were exiting. Fun times. Hopefully, not as bad as that.

RE: Roadies - NCeagle - 09-18-2014 08:37 AM

Went to NC State, went to GT, will probably go to Ga State, and also making the trip to Annapolis for Navy. And season ticket holder, so I'll be at all the home games minus Troy since I started a new job 2 months ago, and used my vacation days for App and Navy.

RE: Roadies - EaglesDare - 09-18-2014 09:04 AM

We went to NCSU, GT and will be at USA, GSU and Navy. Couldn't swing TXST and NMSU.

One of our radio guys loves to talk about AState's last trip to Baton Rouge, in which he got flipped off by a 5 year old holding a beer.

Worst away fan experience for me was Georgia fans. Never...ever again.

Wonder if that factored into taking the band to Troy but not Clemson

Texan Problems

RE: Roadies - panama - 09-18-2014 11:59 AM

Maybe USA. Wanted to do Washington but it did not work out schedule wise. Passing on Clemson.

RE: Roadies - Dedsquirrl - 09-18-2014 12:23 PM

I will be going to Lafayette.

One of these seasons we will be going to Jonesboro.
Not this season though.
