And, am I right that they just brought the biggest visitor crowd in our history. Troy, Jax and usm havent topped it that i recall not even state.. we need to play a and them regularly...

Moos may have brought more a few years back.

yeah i was trying to think... it was very close in any event. impressive!

Their side did look good for the camera. Take the band away, and we probably don't see as many over there.

I would say, more accurately, that we're not depending on your input on what bands should be allowed in the stadium or not.

Apparently the only rule is that no one can make noise that makes it impossible for the opposing team to hear their signals. No explicit rules against specifically playing during plays unless the team can't hear.

No instruments can be played while the ball is in play. In basketball, it's a technical foul. I've never seen them call it in football, so I don't know what the penalty would be. Obviously everyone had the green light today.

My guess would be delay of game

Memphis used to bring good crowds during the Deangelo Williams years.

Look at MB trying to be hip to the rules. 05-stirthepot

Some HBCU bands will always break the rule of no two bands playing at the same time. Some will not. LOL

These rules are laughable coming from The Boom. JSU is notorious for over playing the opposing bands.

Any news on Howard and his injury from today?

I forgot about them. They usually didnt top usm, but there was that little period wasnt there...

When i think of williams i always think of that race car or whatever they painted trying to lobby for him to win the hypeman lol

Scratch above his eye. Doesn't sound like a big deal.

Sounds incredibly uncomfortable though.

I thought Coach Clark said it was a scratched eyelid.

Yeah, that's what he said in the post-game.

Might be one of the worst officiating crews I have ever seen.

Crowd looked to be in the low 30s. Wonder why they released an early estimate? Usually they wait for a turnstile count. That was odd. I'm betting hat number changes.

They were SWAC bad. I don't think the Belt has this bad of officials.

I thought the count should have been 30K or higher

We caught a HUGE break on that inadvertent whistle. There were a few A&M fans around me when it happened and they were ticked. It was a huge momentum killer for them.

I didn't notice many calls or many of the plays as I was busy taking 2 boys (7 and 10) back and forth to the restroom.

Anyone else out there immediately recall the quick whistle (against us; after a punt and fumble) up at OU some years ago?

Why karma felt A&M had to pay for OU home cookin' is beyond me.

I'm just glad the game came down to more than a score or two.

That was a HUGE call. My mother leaned over to me and said "the ref's check from UAB must have cleared" right after that.

RE: Game Thread - Alabama A&M edition - UAB Band Dad - 09-14-2014 12:53 PM

Yeah. We're usually on the screw-threaded end of calls like that.
