The Owl golf team rebounded from a disappointing second round to finish 11th in the season-opening Sam Hall tourney in Hattiesburg -- (284-296-284 = 864/+12). Straight 284s would have left Rice in a tie for 4th!
Individually, The Owls were led by Kevin Reilly (69 70 71 = 210/-3/T8) and James Lee (72-73-69 = 214/+1/T20). Freshman Mario Carmona, who competed as an individual, also finished T20 (72 69 73 = 214). If his scores had counted for the team, Rice would have finished T6.
