Governor Downgrade - Again - Redwingtom - 09-09-2014 02:49 PM

Christie at it again.

Quote:New Jersey’s bond rating was downgraded Friday, its second downgrade this year and the seventh since Gov. Chris Christie ® took office, a state record.
New Jersey’s credit rating has been downgraded more under Chris Christie than any other governor

Sure it was a response to number of Casino's going belly up. That[s a pretty hefty tax haul that's been cut off.

Symptomatic of what I was talking about yesterday. This worst recovery in History will continue to take it's toll. If people can't pay the cable bill, they sure as hell aren't trotting off to the black jack table. Or, to that weeks vacation at the beach for that matter. Double whammy for a place like Atl City.

Shame really. Lot of those places where pretty damn nice, and a lot closer than Vegas. One only opened last year I think. Wonder if they will ever recover from the ruination of this disastrous regime and open their doors again.

That's it in a nutshell. Nothing to do with the NJ legislature or the governor this time around.

When Obama was the first president to be in office when there was a downgrade of the US Bonds, you were all over that too. huh, commietom.

'xplain to us how he had nothing to do with it.

I did see where the casinos in AC are going to be getting sports books.

Those Casino guys lived off of other states. Now everyone gambles.

*scratches head* Wut?

Who cares where the money comes from? Actually a lot of the money that used to pour into those places came from Asia, or the "orient". haha.

And it isn't the fact that the casinos are having their own problems, per se, it's that their problems = a large reduction in the tax receipts flowing to the various governments- state, local and fed.

Doesn't matter what states (or countries) the gamblers came from...their money stayed in Atl City, hence Joisey. That's the point.

*edit* Read that the first time as "NOT everyone gambles", not "now", but the point still stands. And I get what you're saying the gambling opportunities are certainly more widespread, but it's not true that
"everyone" has Casino or whatever. Mid -Atlantic I think it';s still pretty much Atl City or some injun spots up in NY.

Haven't looked for any places recently, I only gamble in Aruba myself...

How'd your investment in FUN (i think) work out? Still selling out on the 15th. Gambling and the stock market is definitely not for everyone.
