I don't mind if we lose to UCLA that much as long as...... - bluebacker - 08-31-2014 06:59 PM

.......it's not be because we GIVE the game away. I cant tell you how many losses against 'big name' opponents I have sat through not because the other team played better but because we HANDED them the game with dumb penalties, turnovers inside our own 20, and generally getting psyched out by the name on the jersey.

If these Tigers can just keep their heads on straight no telling what could happen next Saturday.

We clearly are over matched in this game so if we can keep the final score around 21 which is the line I will be happy. Just dont' want to be embarrassed. UCLA has too many weapons for us. We need one more year where our offense will keep us in the game not our defense!

We have at least four more years of building and changing of perceptions before we are a believable team to recruits. That will make all the difference.

Yes we are over matched. But always a chance.

Last year our O was in utero. We seem to have skipped the crawling stage so the trend is good. Ya just nevah know.

That is so true.

Seriously, if the Tigers don't shoot themselves in the foot and make UCLA earn everything they get this will be a heck of a ballgame. If they turn into deer in headlights it'll be a shame.

As I said, if we lose, fine; just don't effing HAND it to them.

I always remember how we beat that Orange team one time, 21-17. Keep the faith!

When we played MSU a few years ago down there we did just that. There was a touchdown they scored when our safety had the interception go literally right through his hands. Foolish mistakes.

We were overmatched when we won at Florida.

We were overmatched when we beat Alabama (okay, not by much).

We were overmatched when we went to LA and beat USC.

We were overmatched when we beat UT.

The only way this program turns around is to win big games. No use having a football team if we don't think we can compete.

That USC team finished the year 3-8 didn't it?

Ouch.

That was unnecessary.

Maybe I'm influenced by how we played UCF & Louisville last year or how we manhandled AP last week but I think we can be competitive. I'll be there with that expectation.

Yes, even though they had talent enough to be ranked around 14th to start the season. But l'il old MEMPHIS STATE whipping their @ss on Labor Day 1991 derailed their season.

Plus those three SEC teams MEMPHIS lucked out against haven't been worth jack for quite a while. honestly, when's the last time you heard about the Tide, Vols, or Gators accomplishing anything on the gridiron? So the TIGERS beating those those schools mean nothing; everyone beats those slackards. Emmitt, Peyton...no big deal.

I remember the USC game like it was yesterday.........

We lost to Alabama the last game of that year 10-7. they jumped up 10-0 in the first quarter and then we kicked their ass everywhere but the scoreboard for the last three quarters. Sophomore Joey Allison missed three (?) chip shot field goals in that game. 13-7 Tigers would have been a fair score BUT.........I remember leaving the stadium unable to believe Alabama got the win.....

Coach Fuente has been to the real Rose Bowl and they had that TCU team ready. I am sure they will be fired up to play at the Rose Bowl against UCLA.

I hope we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. But I liked the speed of the game the other night and if we can keep up that pace, get a turnover, kick return, you never know.

Our guys really looked to be in good shape.

There have been times the past six or seven years when we couldn't have scored 63 against air.
