Big East Expansion to 12 schools - Boyee - 07-25-2014 09:35 PM
I would like to see the new Big East add Saint Louis University and University of Dayton or Siena College or Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit or Niagara University and stop at 12 schools (unless they can get Notre Dame). SLU and UD just don't fit in geographically in the Atlantic 10. It always seemed weird to me that non-sectarian Butler is in a conference where all other members are Catholic schools.

SLU does fit in the current BE. However, it could well be that #12 may have to be in an Eastern state to gain some geographic balance. Perhaps this is of the reasons they're sticking with ten members for the time being.

I think Dayton could play on east awhile
move west if BE goes to 14
Siena an interesting choice, they have rabid fan base
wait for another eastern school to devolve
their is plenty of them, at this point Holly Cross might make the cut
