NIU DAY at the CELL - HUSKiESbelieve - 07-17-2014 11:05 PM
Going to my first Whitesox game(not a big baseball fan.....yet?) It is NIU day this Saturday (7/19) They enticed me with the steel band playing and fireworks after the game. Any of you guys going?
***Put in NIU for the code and tickets were about 50% off.

I'm starting a bachelor party at the cell on Saturday. Ugh. I wish I would have known about the code earlier, could have saved everyone some money.

Huskies football, it's way more exciting and way less expensive.
But, enjoying the game anyways. In sec 117, row 28, behind some other Huskies fans.

Saw the Steel band perform before the game.
The fireworks were sponsored by NIU and were outstanding. Would love to see as nice a show set to music after a night football game.
Great to see Mission at the game and Victor E. made an appearance during the shirt toss. Mission participated in the first pitch.
Saw lots of Huskie gear on fans (unlike myself)
Got about $18 off per ticket for lower box seats.
Replay slowed the game down even more if you can believe baseball can be even slower.
All in all a good time and thought NIU Day was a success.

Has the steel band ever/recently performed before a football game? I would love to see them but not enough to make a trip our to DeKalb just for them.

In all reality, NIU Day at the Cell was a success. Mrs Reality and I were there last night and saw plenty of NIU fans students and alumni there. Kudos to the students its great to see you supporting NIU and also to the alums . Is 3 replays in one game a baseball record ?
