Went through DeKalb yesterday. No work on tearing down Douglas yet. Has this been put on the shelf? If you do not start now, it will be a cluster in August for the start of school. Any insight?

According to NIU Construction updates Douglas demolition is anticipated to be completed by June 2015.

They project had to be approved before they could start demolition. I believe it was approved sometime in the middle to late June.

It does not need to be a "cluster"...
Simply put a fence around it and start tearing it down this fall. Then begin construction on the grounds in the spring when the weather breaks.
Construction shows progress. This is a high-visibility location and good for NIU's image IMO>

No that date is to have the road rebuilbt. No way that date is met with getting demolition completed this summer.

It was approved by the BOT on March 27th

NIU officials had hoped to complete the demolition project by November, but Nicklas said the start of demolition has been delayed until October because state bodies had to review the project before it began. Crews currently are removing asbestos throughout the 51-year-old building. Demolition of the building will be done in stages rather than all at once.
