1 for 5 with 2 K's in a Nats victory.

RE: Anthony Rendon in Houston Tonight against the Astros - jhruzek - 04-30-2014 09:18 PM

3 for 3 Wed with 2 doubles and 2 RBI

RE: Anthony Rendon in Houston Tonight against the Astros - d1owls4life - 04-30-2014 09:23 PM

And now a solo homer.

RE: Anthony Rendon in Houston Tonight against the Astros - Fort Bend Owl - 04-30-2014 09:27 PM

I didn't realize he was leading the majors in batting average against lefties entering tonight's game (.500). And then he went 3x3 against Houston's lefty starter.

Now 4 x 4 w/ 3 RBI's
Putting on a show for his 200 friends and family

Now a featured performer on MLBTV -- homerun and play at 3rd.

RE: Anthony Rendon in Houston Tonight against the Astros - texd - 04-30-2014 11:05 PM

Nationals’ Rendon homers, doubles twice in 7-0 win as part of a happy Houston homecoming

I picked the wrong night to go :~(

The attendance was pathetic also on Tuesday night even without a Rocket's game nearby. The weather was nice with the roof open. Even though the Astros are not winning now, why not come out to see the Astros future stars develop?

I wonder what position Rendon will be on the All-Star ballot (probably 2B)? He'll have a chance to be a starter at either position but he might have a better shot at 2B than at 3B (maybe Utley would be the biggest competition at 2B although Brandon Phillips was the starter there last year; David Wright I guess is still the favorite at 3B?). In any case, he's well on his way to making the All-Star game, assuming he has a halfway decent May and June.

I agree. Assuming he doesn't dramatically tank, he's the Nats AS.

Rendon is listed at 2B and R. Zimmerman is listed at 3B for the Nationals. The All Star ballots were out at the Astros game on Tuesday. I picked one up to look at even I was not ready to vote yet.

I know they want you to vote often but I had not looked enough at players to make a decision about who I want to vote for. Actually, I think the fan voting is more about popularity than ability. Aging stars on a big market team get more votes than emerging players on small market teams so the best players often do not get selected.

Great game write-up from the Washington Post:

Anthony Rendon is more popular in Houston than the Astros: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/dc-sports-bog/wp/2014/05/01/anthony-rendon-is-more-popular-in-houston-than-the-astros/ (intentionally humorous and incorrect title - it's a blog)

RE: Anthony Rendon in Houston Tonight against the Astros - NolaOwl - 05-01-2014 03:36 PM

Uhm....

"A couple hundred family members, friends and former teammates watched from the stands, too many for Rendon to provide an exact number.

'Rice education doesn’t let me count that high,' he said, grinning."

Such heresy! <g>
