6 Contradictions of Socialism in America - Jerry Falwell - 03-27-2014 03:08 PM

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

The hypocrisy of the left is as unbearable as a high school girlfriend that turns out to be a really jealous, over obssessive drama queen while she talks shiit about you to the guy she's fuucking while you're at home doing something nice for her...

This is where republicans have their heads wedge firmly up their @$$e$.

Paul Ryan came so close to nailing the problem but then blew it. He got it right that the problem is poor people staying poor. But then he failed to connect the obvious dots as to why.

The reason the poor stay poor is not character flaws, it's structural flaws in the system. The right needs to get rid of the sound bytes that sound (whether intentional or not) like saying the poor stay poor because they are lazy and worthless. The poor stay poor because the welfare system designed by democrats contains enormous disincentives for them to do anything else. From the poverty line to middle class, the average American is robbed of 85% of every dollar he or she makes--and there are states where that number exceeds 100%. And those are CBO's numbers, not mine.

That's the problem that republicans need to identify and run against. Ryan got so close, but one again stupid party struck. And what's really bad is that if they quit being stupid party, they have a tremendous opportunity to nail evil party as precisely that.

THIS is a great post. Well said and worthy of a further discussion, perhaps it's own thread. I would love to read a coherent rebuttal of this truism, though I doubt we'll see one.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and this is what that means. Fold zerOcare into this same omelet, the disincentives to work and upward mobility are astounding.

Those suffering the worse are poorly served by the "generosity" of the state. They are better served by their own efforts. We would ALL be better served by more folks pulling the cart than those riding in it.

Seems pretty simple to me. Get a job, work hard, create a better life.
