Aardsma pitches again - bobreinhold1 - 03-27-2014 02:43 PM

Unfortunately David pitched himself back to Memphis today. He gave up two walks, one hit and a long lineout in his four batters. He was all over the place and the velocity was down. He will get a chance to get back to form and may get a call back later in the year.

It wasn't pretty (posted the same in the original thread).

Better news for Cingrani who in a split squad game (with the other game televised) has gone 3.0 thus far with 2 hits, 1 BB, 3Ks, 0 runs.

Hope David finds success, but he'll need to find some new life in his arm. When I watched him yesterday he topped out at 92 but was mostly 87-89 when throwing strikes, and his offspeed stuff showed little action.

Through 5.0 innings Tony has given up 5 hits, 1 run (earned), 2 BB, 5K....of course the run came on a HR (he has sort of become the 21st Century Bert Blyleven giving up HRs but mostly of the solo variety).

Well this visage of Tony Cingrani is all sorts of fantastic. http://grantland.com/features/2014-nl-central-preview/ … pic.twitter.com/Xy1P4oCa9N

Tuesday is going to be really tough. Game 2, Cards vs Reds, Wacha against Cingrani, Aggies against Owls.

Final line for Tony....7.0 5H 1R (HR) 2 BB 6Ks
Haven't seen the pitch breakdown yet but midway through his outing he was running better than 2 to 1 strikes vs balls

Just sent my contract retentions in for my NL fantasy league (going since 1981 - Fourth Floor League - where it started at Sid Rich), and Tony Cingrani and Anthony Rendon are on the list (mid-season pickups last year).
