Why doens't JP have a Tiger on his staff?? - g0tigersgo80 - 03-25-2014 07:26 PM

I read the thread about AA and I've talked to him on Twitter about that very topic and he seemed like he'd be open to it, but I think JP needs to somehow someway incorporate a former Tiger either AA or Penny or maybe even Perry. I don't have inside info or anything but kids now a days need to believe at some point their going to go to the NBA. Even if it's not realistic. I'm all for these kids believing as long as they want, and I think that's why Cal had Strickland. A for NBA PG with who can help these kids get ready. Just my 2 cents. No one needs to berate me for it! 05-mafia05-mafia05-mafia

Nice post. Anyone who would berate you over this has serious problems.

Thanks.. I seem to get a lot of hate for having my own opinion and for asking questions. IDK what it is.

I would not let those posters rain on your parade. I have a solid five or so that hate me and act like I shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion either. I'm not going to let them run me off though. Keep posting.

Well I wasn't aware if the question had been addressed before. Either my JP himself or just discussed amongst the posters. Why ask WHy?

A coach should be able to teach. Not many former players can teach others to do what they were able to do.

How's Tony Madlock's reputation as an assistant?

Link? Tweet? When you say stuff like this without facts you lose credibility

Maybe he has a "source" or maybe its through observation. Dude was brought in for a couple of "relationships" he had... One being Jaquan Lyle. Hasnt closed a recruit. Has less value now... Id guess hes gone too. But in my case, its observation and opinion.

Just a question why do you think he needs a Tiger on his staff? Does it have to be a Tiger or would a guy who has been in the nba work?

RE: Why doens't JP have a Tiger on his staff?? - 21-17 Best Time I Ever Ha - 03-25-2014 10:13 PM

We've done the "guy who has been in the NBA" already. Not sure it worked too well.

I would love to see AA or Penny on our staff. I think it would be great on several levels. We've had the Lifechanger and the NBA guy. Why not try a former Tiger, former NBA player, former Memphian (or not)?

RE: Why doens't JP have a Tiger on his staff?? - Brother Bluto - 03-25-2014 10:19 PM

Oh God not another Tony Madlock thread. First Penny now this? What about Keith Lee and Askew?

RE: Why doens't JP have a Tiger on his staff?? - g0tigersgo80 - 03-26-2014 12:11 AM

I was think former Tiger just because those are the ones you know wouldn't jump ship after a year or two. Plus I have a lot of respect for our former players. Idk Madlocks time as an assistant so I can't comment on that. But penny loves Memphis and the school and AA loves the city and his defensive intensity and IQ would help kids learn how to concentrate on more then offense.
