Our players are quicker, more skilled, and similar sized. We should be beating Virginia. The difference is Virginia has a coach with a defensive and offensive game plan that the players go out and execute. We have a coach that says "Make shots" and whose idea of a motivational speech is to tell the team he's made the sweet 16 as a player and an assistant.
It's not the players. It's the coach. He doesn't have a plan or if he does he's entirely uncapable of getting the players to execute it.
Freaking terrible.
And Pastner will say "UVA made shots and we didn't"
Because you can't coach you freaking tool!

Let me hit you with a baseball bat when you are shooting and see how you play. Va is being allowed to play very physical and we do not have the players to play the physical game.

4 missed layups. How many out of control shots? how many defensive breakdowns leading to open 3s or penetration? how many out of control turnovers or forced shots? 25?
Grow up and understand that there's a lot more that happens on the court besides the ball being released from the shooters hand

Offensively it is not 100% on Josh (our players or in no way more skilled than UVA)...You need guys who are versatile, we don't have that...Bunch of 1 dimensional guys.
Defensively I agree this is 100% coaching.

This debacle is because of our coach. I feel so sorry for all the players on this Memphis squad. Their hopes and dreams dashed because our great school and city gave an over-eager recruiter with no experience coaching the head position at one of the top 15 programs in the country. Yeah, makes perfect sense.
Nothing will change until we make the change.

I counted 6 missed point blank shots, 12 points and we are in a 3 point game. How is that coaching?
