How good can Seth Dugan can be if he was "beat out" by a football player?

RE: Chance Stewart named all state in Class B basketball - DesertBronco - 03-23-2014 02:22 PM

Wasn't Greg Jennings all state?

GBL: Without knowing anything of the other players, I suspect that, like any all whatever lists, this has heavy senior bias.

Greg was all state and finish 7th in Mr. Basketball voting. They lost in the state finals on a team that had him and Jerome Harrison on the team.

Sturgis was 15-7 playing more difficult competition that Otsego who went 21-3 losing to Benton Harbor(who plays in the same league as Sturgis) in the regional final in OT. Benton Harbor went on to lose in the Class B state finials. I would say Otsego is more than a one trick pony the way Sturgis was with Chance. Add in the fact that one of the 11 member committee that sets the all state team is VERY close with the people in Sturgis and writes for the local paper(Good guy by the way who advocate for local athletes) .

Love Sturgis.

Saw Jaws when in came out in the mid or late 70's in their downtown theater.

Seth Dugan is the 4th best player on his own team. 90% of his buckets are from being 7ft and grabbing rebounds over 6'3" centers. AJ Atwater at the 2 guard and Mike Williams and Chris Pearl at the wings are all better than Dugan.

He has a lot of work to do if he is going to make an impact at the D-1 level.

04-jawdrop What? I thought he was WMU's #1 priority for the class of '15?

A difference maker!
Iowa was in as was Northwestern to see this kid. Creighton reportedly showing interest.

No?

Oh jeeze that stinks.

I hope he grows up into the player everyone thought he would be. That's the first I heard he wasn't as advertised.

You can teach a lot of things, but you can't teach a kid to be 7'.

GB, so here is my take on this: You don't like Hawk but given the successful season it is hard to attack him right now. Soooo, you resort to attacking one of his recruits.

Pathetic that you are belittling a kid. One that is still in high school no less. Shame on you.

You dope. Don't confuse critical analysis with being critical of the person. In this instance neither.

Somebody responded to Seth Dugans ability stacking up against his Otsego teammates. If true it is contrary to the popular belief that he is/should be WMU's #1 target for '15. Goes to my long standing belief you don't recruit kids who arent better than what you have. You are ALWAYS pushing the envelope.

Regarding Hawk? Historically critical. Still has holes in his swing, IMO. But as I have written frequently of late, has done a stellar job this year.

Regarding "kids" we dont roll that way around here. That includes the PSL kids lambasted by Dip in the last couple years.

Me too. That's why I questioned it. But you never know.

GB, if I am a dope for calling you out for being derogatory to a high school kid then I wear the label like a badge of honor.

Major, you remember Mark Raynor? Cool Breeze. Great guy who bloomed later.

Has a son Adam who is too at Mona Shores or was. May be at college somewhere.

7' 280+.

Simply 7'. Nice kid. But not D1 talent apparently. Nothing wrong with that, just not what WMU needs or should be looking at.

How was I derogatory? Be specific.

Our football program is in such disarray that we are arguing about future basketball recruits on a football thread.03-drunk
