According to whoever was the spokesperson for the committee it was because of the out of conference schedule. It was much worse than the next team. I don't remember exactly, but it was something like 200 as opposed to 92

The Houston loss on a neutral court hurt, while the sub-200 loss as USF turned into a big ugly wart as other teams played their way into the tournament this week.
Still should have made it over NC St.

We got a #1 seed in the NIT and play UC Irvine. We need to schedule better OOC and not lose to Houston.

You got screwed, but winning the NIT is sometimes very good tournament practice for next season. If there is a silver lining, several NIT games will be better experience than losing the first one in the NCAAs.
