Sorry SMU - huskiesnyc - 03-16-2014 06:28 PM

you guys got so screwed over it makes me sick. I sure as hell hope everyone in this league hits the phones tonight and starts scheduling better. RPI strength of schedule is all that matters apparently and the bottom 5 teams RPI killed us. No respect from the committee.

RE: Sorry SMU - UofMemphis - 03-16-2014 06:28 PM

We need someone on the committee...

RE: Sorry SMU - CalallenStang - 03-16-2014 06:28 PM

Yep. We all got screwed. Let's beat the crap out of whoever is in our path

About time Houston cooged it to another team

RE: Sorry SMU - HuskyU - 03-16-2014 06:29 PM

I'm also sick to my stomach that you guys didn't make it. I hope you destroy everyone in the NIT.

RE: Sorry SMU - b0ndsj0ns - 03-16-2014 06:30 PM

Houston cooged not only the league but themselves. Kept SMU out of the tournament and kept Dickey employed. Lose lose for everyone.

SMU fans, as a fan of another team that feels they got screwed, you guys definitely have my sympathy.

What did the NCAA committee expect you guys to do to get a better schedule? Y'all had a rough last year, so nobody wanted to play you this year.. you have a good year, and you're punished for it when the tourney chart comes out.

Nothing to be sorry about. SMU should have never lost to Temple or USF. . . Having said that. The ones that I truly feel sorry for are SMU's opponents next year 05-mafia

RE: Sorry SMU - KNIGHTTIME - 03-16-2014 06:45 PM

That Houston loss in round one killed their chance.

Had nothing to do with the Houston loss. Had more to do with the loss to Temple & USF.

Never understood the SOS argument provided by the committee chair. If NC State for example wins a few of those games they lost the SOS of their opponents actually goes down due to the losses. SOS penalizes teams that win. Why wasn't Witchita State penalized for their weak in conference strength of schedule, rather then being rewarded with a number 1 seed.

There are a lot of questions and not enough answers. How does a team that ended the year ranked get snubbed? How does a 9 loss team end up as a number 2 seed? I hate that NCSU made it in. This is our up hill battle that we continue to fight through having to deal with 3 NCAA caliber teams within a 3 hour drive from Greenville.

Wichita State deserved the number one seed just based on going undefeated. Its something that hasnt been done since '91 and they have beaten everyone pretty handily. I do have a problem with some of the teams that did get an at large and the snubs and 3 in one region is BS.
