Can you even tell what sort of defense we're in there? Why the hell is geron in the middle of the lane? Is it man and he's completely lost? It can't be zone because clearly Dom would be in the middle and not on a wing. I assume King is supposed to be defending #2 and has slid over to help penetration. Joe was screened off the ball. Dom appears completely out of it and must not have hedged or helped at all when his man screened Joe. I'm not sure what Chris is doing but at least he's in position to close out on either wing

I'd have to go back and watch the tape to see what set they were actually in, but it looks to me like it was a 2-3 zone with Chris and Joe up top and Dom on the bottom wing, King in the middle and Geron on the other bottom wing (though he slid way over to collapse the paint). JJ was screened and didn't slip it or fight through it. No clue what Dom is doing (if he's even doing anything). I would argue that CC is out of position to be able to close out on Giffey. He cheated too far in the paint when he wasn't need there. King and Geron have it covered.
Pretty bad d. I'm assuming Giffey popped the open 3 (with a weak close out by CC).

Actually, now that I think about it, Dom is the one who screwed this up. If he stays in front of the driver after JJ is screened, then Geron doesn't have to slide way over to help King and can close out on Giffey (which is the space he was ultimately responsible for guarding if this was indeed a 2-3 zone).

According to Josh, they didn't. Or if they did it's not a problem. The problem is UCONN made shots. The Tigers didn't.

I think #5 was in some kind of skill enhancing beam. Possibly from aliens. Didn't see that on TV.

Yeah, but it's not a problem. UCONN still had to make shots. They did. The Tigers didn't make shots. Have to make shots when you shoot.

Are we that much undiscipline on defense? I am flipping through games and UT's defense is intense but discipline. How is Cuonzo Martin's defensive scheme that much better than Pastner's? I watched Texas and the they have a better defensive scheme with no names
