The Stanford color commentator is numbingly boring.

Is the streaming bad for everybody?

\So did I, and it didn't take long to decide to make the move.

He might actually be somewhat insightful if he talked about 94% less.

actually this coach they've had on the broadcast has been extremely knowledgeable about the game. Very insightful. He does have a monotone voice, but his content is outstanding.

RE: Rice vs. Stanford, Game 3 - NolaOwl - 02-16-2014 03:44 PM

Their pitcher is 6-9, the catcher is 5-9 Look like Mutt and Jeff together!

Pardon the interruption, but how was the third run scored?

I was thinking the same thing. He is a bit of a Stanford apologist, but I find him very interesting.

He talks like a very old school scout, "the kid has a great face." Awesome!

Stanford announcer once again not doing his homework...

Rice-Stanford is not the only matchup between two ranked teams this weekend. Cal Poly and Kansas State are playing just down the road. You'd think he'd know that because, well, the CP-KSU series was featured on at least two websites.

Aquino solo shot.

McCanna walking a tightrope. Getting behind in the count consistently..but, so far has been able to pitch out of trouble.

He absolutely loves Skylar Ewing.

RE: Rice vs. Stanford, Game 3 - Fort Bend Owl - 02-16-2014 03:47 PM

So Ewing with another blast (accounting for the 2 runs in the 1st)? Something tells me we need to come up with a colorful nickname for him. I keep thinking Sky something (Skymaster, Skyblaster).

RE: Rice vs. Stanford, Game 3 - NolaOwl - 02-16-2014 03:48 PM

He is very complimentary about the Owls - says we're very balanced and pitch smartly when behind in the count.

J.R.? (Ewing)

(Yes, I'm old.)

I like your Skyblaster.

When a team is beating the stuffing out of your boys, it does help to sing that team's praises so you don't look so bad.

Even so, I think this guy is largely right about Rice. We seem to be pretty good.

RE: Rice vs. Stanford, Game 3 - NolaOwl - 02-16-2014 03:52 PM

I think this is a pretty bad team by Stanford standards. They are picked to finish 6th in the Pac 12. Still, it's good to be dominant.
