Today's game was a blessing in disquise - mapdude - 02-15-2014 10:19 PM

UConn gotta come to Memphis for the tourney.

Todays game pales in comparison to the importance of the tourney games...

They gonna come to town and revenge is gonna be sweet....

This game was important today and UCONN has already come here and left with a win but I get what you are saying.

I don't feel blessed but don't blame you for looking for that ray of sunshine.

I see what you are saying. I have already said I would dearly love to play them again, I welcome the challenge and hope like heck they are on our side of the bracket.

If we do play them again, I'd like to see us get 36 free throws to their 9.

They WILL NOT beat us a third time. Guaranteed.

RE: Today's game was a blessing in disquise - MemphisTgrsFan - 02-15-2014 11:24 PM

Personally I don't want to play them again in the tourney.

I believe their coach has taught them ways to take advantage of the foul rules and generate unnecessary contact when going up for a shot that will automatically in most cases generate a free throw but will not make it overly difficult for them to shoot the shot. I believe he has also taught them that if three players reach in at the same time it will generally confuse the ref who does not know which player to call the reach in foul on.

Its clear that UConns weakness is the inability to stop a guard from driving and they are weak in adjusting their transitions defense against fastbreaks. Get the rebound and push it up the floor as quick as possible

For me I'll take my chances. They aren't that smart.

Hell, I'd like to see them get 9 free throws to our 9, or 36 free throws to our 36 ... whichever.

Really? With what we saw today, nothing is guaranteed.

Losing an overtime game at UConn isn't a problem; losing by 10 at home to them and by 17 to Cincinnati is.......

Yeah these blessing in disguise losses are getting old. Of the top 5 in our league we are the worse.

Their guys initiate contact to get to the line so yes you are right...Our guys do not try to get to the line as much, they try to make a play
