It won't show up in the stat sheet but one GREAT gauge of how things are going - transitt - 01-10-2014 10:51 PM

If Shaq Goodwin is grinning while running down the court, the Tigers are laying a beating on someone! 04-cheers

Yep. I don't recall seeing any grins in the Cincy game.

There was not much to grin about... I am glad he had a lot to smile about last night!

I was wondering what was up with that. You that smile even in bad games most of the time.

Funny thing about those two games.

With 5 minutes left in the Cincy game Memphis trailed by 7.
With 5 minutes left in the Louisville game Memphis trailed by 6.

In the Cincy game, they then scored more and we could not make a shot and the final got blown up.
In the Louisville game they stopped scoring and we scored on nearly every possession and we won.

In other words, the Cincy game was gettable and the Louisville game was lose-able. It FELT like more though in the Cincy game, because the home crowd was restless and nervous while the players seemed to actually feed off the road crowd in Louisville (I am not blaming the crowd- just commenting on the atmosphere).

The Louisville crowd got real dour when they still had the lead. When Geron cut it to one on the dunk off Joe's pass, the Louisville crowd sounded beaten, and they still held a one point lead.

Memphis makes a 3 or and one when down the 7 to Cincy and the crowd energy gets back up.

This is so true. I am amazed at momentum and other intangibles in sporting events. There was fear in that arena last night. You could just feel it. Actually the crowd was strangely quiet and not into the game at all during most of the game. They finally got into it on Harrell's dunk and 1 in the second half but that was about it. Weird when you think of the rivalry the schools have.

I mentioned before the game that they hadn't played at home in 23 days, and I thought it could lead to the fans and the team coming out flat.

A poster observed elsewhere (and I agree) that the football coaching drama drained the Louisville fans.
