Collin Lisa has re-opened his recruitment.

Anyone seen any others yet?

RE: Recruiting impact - cb4029 - 01-09-2014 10:14 PM

I'll assume they are all open at this point. Damn you McGee.

Once we get a new staff in place, we'll be able to get some of them back, and add a few more prospects that the new staff knows about. Glad we got the 5-6 JUCO's already signed though.

The good news is that alot of schools are already set in terms of most of their spots, so these guys that think they can look elsewhere may find that there options will be very limited at this late in the process.

Some of these guys probably think they might have a shot at getting recruited to Louisville with McGee. I doubt he'll act like he even remembers them, but I'm sure the thought has crossed their mind. I can't blame them though.

RE: Recruiting impact - Memphis Blazer - 01-09-2014 10:32 PM

What about the new QB? He was really pro UAB on twitter earlier in the week.

RE: Recruiting impact - the_blazerman - 01-09-2014 10:33 PM

Which one of our 6 new QB's?

RE: Recruiting impact - Memphis Blazer - 01-09-2014 10:34 PM

Pat Thomas.

RE: Recruiting impact - cb4029 - 01-09-2014 10:35 PM

Only six???
I thought it was at least two dozen.

RE: Recruiting impact - the_blazerman - 01-09-2014 10:35 PM

Was he one of those that was currently enrolled?

If so, he may have been at the meeting.

RE: Recruiting impact - Memphis Blazer - 01-09-2014 10:37 PM

I don't think so. He was tweeting about how excited he was and couldn't wait to get to Birmingham. I was impressed with his enthusiasm. Hope he still is

Recruiting will be interesting. I thought at last year's signing day xHCM was highly pi$$ed at Brohm taking some of the guys he recruited with him to WKU. Wonder if that same chivalry will hold now.

Drew Champlin ‏@DrewChamplin
Collin Lisa told me he's reopening his recruitment but still very interested in UAB. I would have posted that sooner but been on the phone

How much of a timeframe is UAB looking at to have a new coach in place? I'm thinking it has to be pretty soon, right? If this program didn't have the "dead end" reputation, it certainly does now after this bull****. I used to defend that bastage (McGee)...Damn!

It can't be stated enough that, in the long run, McGee did UAB a huge favor. Be happy, man. Short term pain, long term gain.

Indirect fortune. But McGee didn't intend to do UAB any favors. It was all about him.

Agree. We caught a big break and we needed it badly. Do-overs don't come around often.
