Coaches Poll for next week? - nosurf2day - 11-10-2013 10:12 PM

Now that the new BCS standings are out. How does everyone think it will affect coaches votes next week?

Does anyone think the coaches will still vote the Cards ahead of UCF?

What is the likelihood that UCF pushes ahead of NIU and Fresno if all three win out?

I think the Coaches push UCF ahead of NIU and Fresno eventually. We are close now and as much as they would love to hate on UCF and all things AAC, they would much rather have us pass NIU and Fresno and keep them out of the BCS. Wouldn't be surprised if most of the SEC and ACC coaches started pushing UCF forward to send us to Phoenix and keep us out of the Sugar or Orange.

It will be interesting, UCF is right behind us but they may be hard-pressed to catch up to us (unless the human voters do it) considering we still have a couple good opponents left in the regular season and a possible matchup with a 10-win Buffalo in the MACC if we both win out. Buffalo's only losses have been to two teams ranked in the top 5.

That would piss me off, being in the military and being stationed in NC both the Orange and Sugar are preferred for me. It would be hard for me to get all the way over to the Fiesta bowl. I doubt UCF would travel well to there either. I would think the Bowls would take that into consideration.

Worry about winning out. The rest you have no control

Why are some UCF fans so obsessed with their coaches poll ranking? The Knights control their destiny and are very likely heading to a BCS bowl for the first time in school history (barring some epic late season collapse). Who cares where the coaches rank them in Week 12 as long as they win the league's AQ status and BCS bowl game?

I know, they beat us...on our own field...they have much more important things on their plate now then worrying about a Week 12 Coaches Poll...

We care because the coaches poll effects the BCS rankings but I am sure you already know that so basically that was a dumb question. For every vote UofL gets ahead of UCF it puts UCF that much further back in the average.

He was pointing that it doesn't matter. The only thing that keeps UCF out of BCS is if they lose twice and then it wouldn't matter what the polls say. So the BCS poll is irrelevant for UCF

Wrong, its VERY relevant, if this was next year UCF wouldn't get the bid, Fresno then NIU then UCF. So moving up in the polls this year is VERY important. The higher we get before EOY the better our ranking will be should we win the whole gambit. We need a really high ranking by EOY for the start of next year.

LOL. Worry about this year. As I said win out and you'll move up. Lose and you won't have to worry about polls

So very true...but since we don't play the game it's just fun to talk about the what if's. This is new for UCF fans. I'm sure the players are focused on one game at a time. We'll see. 04-rock
