Nice opening night crowd. A little over 4,000. Very strange how hundreds of people stood in the concourse instead of their seats. The players kept talking about atmosphere.

Good to see an appreciation for basketball. Hope the crowds continue. Students should fill the place by themselves and there are no weather excuses indoors.

Agree. Maybe because it's a Friday night. Still wish the students would have been behind both baskets. I understand trying to make every last buck by selling the lower seats.

Draw big names and the students will come. Not a quick process, but with SECU Arena ready to go and the recent resurgence of the Towson MBB team it is only a matter of time. You are on the way up and it will be entertaining to watch.

Not many "big names" are going to come. Sure we have Temple, but that's going to be a once-a-year thing. Then you have the mini-mester which means we hope that we can get 2,000 or more without a lot of students.

Gee Matt, that's a sorry outlook.

What's a sorry outlook? That big-name teams are not going to come to a mid-major arena? That we won't be drawing as much in the mini-mester? I guess your negativity is rubbing off on me. The truth hurts.

Not negative, just honestly typing what is on my mind, and those who I sit with at games. I cannot take credit for all of the gems that are posted under my name here, as sometimes they are other opinions from our collective that I express being that I have an account. Most people my age do not post on these boards.

I do think this is a watershed week for our football coaching staff, we will see what they are made of as a staff and as leaders this week. No excuses time. It's week 12 of the season and you are coming off an open date. Everyone is banged up in college football, but you are rested. You have a veteran team that you put together, every bit of it. You seem to play better on the road than at home, so you are away from distractions. If you cannot win this week I am a little skeptical about our ability to win against any team of note in the playoffs.

Ambrose is 4-1 coming off open dates in his career and we have the best player in FCS in our backfield. I do not buy the West was hurt lines from last week as he was not too hurt to come back in the game for the last kickoff return, which as someone else pointed out on the other board was a brutally put together idea to try and Stanford a play into the end zone using trickery rather than running 1-3 plays after a fair catch. That is pure Ambrose though, I give him credit, he always has an answer for everything and rarely if ever just shoulders the blame on his own back. No one ever calls him on it either, which is sad. Can't expect you to do it Mat because you work for Towson, so without a independent reporter covering the team Ambrose skirts by with no real spotlight on his game management, staffing decisions.

I'm done arguing. You are keeping this board alive so keep up the good work but just because I disagree, doesn't mean it's because I work for Towson (barely). I just have a different perspective.
