Cards overtake Ohio for volleyball lead - LongtimeFan - 10-20-2013 09:02 AM
Ball State won at Kent State and at Ohio this weekend to take the lead in MAC volleyball. The Cards are now 7-1 (19-4) and lead the MAC West by two games over Toledo and Western Michigan, while Ohio slips to 6-2 (16-4) and into a tie for the MAC East lead with Bowling Green. The conference tournament this year promises to be one of the best ever.

Reigning MAC Player of the Year Kelly Lamberti went down in the third set. No word yet on how serious it is, but Ohio already lost First Teamer Chelsea Bilger for the season.
BSU's a darn good team. If Ohio can keep it together, conference looks good for another multi-bid year.

Congrats to Ball State on a hard-fought and well-deserved victory Saturday night! maybe we'll have a rematch in the MAC final!

Don't count WMU out just yet. They dropped two road matches early on. BSU still has a rematch with them in Kzoo on the final weekend of regular season play. WMU hosts Kent St. and Ohio in the next two. They swept both Akron and Buffalo this past weekend.
We'll see how it all shakes out. One thing is for sure and that is that vb is pretty strong in the MAC.
