Not I. I honestly was a bit clueless about WVU this year, till tonight. Millard could improve his accuracy a bit, but once he matures he's gonna be tough.

With UT losing and OU not looking good, OSU and Baylor looks promising with their starts.

Yeah, I agree that OSU looks like a favorite. OU is struggling with their identity, on offense. Haven't watched Baylor yet, but I've heard some things. Will be an interesting year.

What the heck is wrong with UT? I really thought they were going to be better this year and BYU is really putting it on them. 40-21 start of the 4th

I'm a Sooner alum, so UT losing is always a good thing. LOL 04-cheers

I thought the OU defense did well, but the offense has a long way to go.

Yeah, they are weak across the middle, but the offense is a LOOOOOONG ways from being right. I think they end up with 3 losses.

As long as they beat UT, it still has to be a good year.

Bedlam is important too, but I think OSU gets us this year.

Texas losing to BYU. This has just gotten embarrassing. 03-banghead

I can take a down year every now and then but sheesh, this is getting ridiculous.

I first met Mack Brown when he was an assistant at Southern Miss. I never thought I would say this, but I think it may be time for him to go.

Didn't read the rest of this thread but I will say Millard has a noodle arm

RE: Bitcruncher - Rabbit_in_Red - 09-08-2013 05:02 AM

WVU didn't look good as much as OU looked bad.

I know folks rag on Baylor but who has improved their overall athletic teams in the last couple of years?
They are making major upgrades in their facilities which should help keep the recruits coming to Waco.
It's a good thing when teams actually use the $$$ they are earning to make upgrades in their infrastructure.

RE: Bitcruncher - Vewb1 - 09-08-2013 06:39 AM

WVU did look good. Or maybe Oklahoma is pretty average? Not sure which. Only time will tell.

I read the whole thread, and appreciate the comments from those who were shocked to see WVU field a competent defense. If only we could have said the same about the offense...

OGB, I don't think Millard has a noodle arm. But it's not strong enough to make some of the throws required in this offense. I kept expecting to see Trickett get some reps, since Millard moved the offense nowhere. WVU's only points came on one great run by Dreamius Smith, who didn't touch the ball again after his TD run until late in the 4th quarter. This leaves me with a bunch of questions lingering after this game...

The running game was working early. Why was it abandoned after Smith's long TD run?

Why did Smith only get 3 carries? You'd think the 2nd carry would have caused Holgorsen to want to give him the ball again...

Millard couldn't move the offense effectively. Why did Trickett not get a chance?
