ASU volleyball recruiting class ranked nationally

WEST LINN, Ore. - Appalachian State's volleyball program earned a distinction as one of the nation's top-100 classes according to PrepVolleball.com on Wednesday. The Mountaineers were one of 44 schools to receive a place on the high honorable mention list.
"It's a great honor to appear on PrepVolleyball's Top Recruiting Classes list for another year," ASU head coach Matt Ginipro said.. "We are excited for our class of 2013 to arrive in Boone in the next month and look forward to how they will help push this program forward."
PrepVolleyball.com ranks the nation's top-30 classes and awards 25 other schools highest honorable mention before handing out 44 spots on the high honorable mention list.
The Mountaineers will welcome a total of seven newcomers to the High Country for the upcoming 2013 season, including Sloan Evans (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights), Kat Ferrell (Huron, Ohio/Huron), Brooke Lyons (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), Taneisha Crockett (Knoxville, Tenn./Hardin Valley Academy), Leah Hawkins (Weaverville/A.C. Reynolds), Olivia Reed (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz) and Kati Stammen (Raleigh/Leesville Road).
Appalachian is one of only two Southern Conference institutions to be earn a top-100 ranking for its recruiting efforts as Chattanooga was also a high honorable mention. Arkansas State, a future conference foe of the Mountaineers, was the lone Sun Belt team to earn recognition.
The Mountaineers' inclusion on the list of the top-100 recruiting classes marks the third time in Ginipro's six seasons in Boone that the Mountaineers have had a nationally-ranked class, all of which have come since 2010.

Ginipro's recruiting is paying off. 12-0 in the top 30 nationally!

We have lost to two schools this past week. Was not a good week to do that.
