So I went to Southern Miss.com yesterday to see the score of the baseball game.. And noticed we could vote on our helmets for the upcoming year.. I'm not crazy about them being all gold, however they got a few nice designs.

I thought it was for the entire season, so I misread.. Well I'm good either way.. I voted for #1.. I like the one with the Southern Miss logo and the outline of Mississippi.

I voted for the feather. We've never lost with it. It also looks snazzy on the helmets. Fear the Feather!

The decal for #1 and #3 looks good, but not on a helmet. That should be on merchandise.

I think it would be cool with the State of Mississippi in the background and the diagonal USM lettering (like on the baseball caps) on top of it

Why? I've never understood why when people see things that are different or maybe a little weird looking, they see it looks like a HS or a D3 team. Do HS and D3 teams all wear weird jerseys or have silly looking helmets?

Being "different" has nothing to do with it. It's the fact that its a bad looking design (in my opinion). Where is an "Attack Eagle" sample? Where is the classic "USM" logo like the baseball team wears?

Here is an example of a Div III helmet from Texas Lutheran. This is what I think when I see #1:

Not sure if it will look right trying to post as a photo, but here's a shot at it. Helmet back stickers and striping aren't visible good on the previously attached photos.

I like the second one, (why don't you do it with the numbers in the back of the helmet? I don't like the feather. The feather reminds me of native-americans and not an eagle, you know like the seminoles feather and spear.
