Boo hoo Cincinnati, I'm sure lots of schools wanted to be in the first class section of college football but got left out. Put on your hard hat and go to work like the rest of us.

interesting quote from the story that is linked in the cinci story:

Quote:The commissioners, fans, media, everyone -- even ESPN -- is tired of conference realignment.

"The best evidence I can posit to you now," said Burke Magnus, senior vice president, college sports programming, "is that it has done nothing but cost us money."

link

in other words, ESPN initiated the realignment frenzy because they were in search of good/better programming, but they put a stop to it because it was costing them money.

there are plenty of parties to blame for the shattered conferences that have been left behind by realignment, but the bastard nazis at ESPN should have a special place in hell reserved just for them.

Fact is Cincy and USF should have never been called up in the 1st place. The BE should have just plucked Louisville in terms of those playing football and been done with it at 8 football and 14 basketball playing members.

The Big East had:

Boston College
Miami
Pitt
Rutgers
Syracuse
Temple
Virginia Tech
West Virginia

The Big East booted Temple. Then lost Miami and Virginia Tech. The Big East then added Connecticut. Then lost Boston College.

Connecticut
Pitt
Rutgers
Syracuse
West Virginia

Throw only Louisville in, and you have six members, which isn't enough to remain a football conference.

According to Jonesing Cincy is in the promised land now.

They should be right down there behind Roy Kramer. The greed of the AQ system & the resulting musical chairs wrecked college football.
Some programs who are now upset, had bonus time that other deserving programs didn't get.
Hard to feel bad for them.

Somebody's jealous. At least Memphis didn't get dogged out by Ohio State's AD.

A big difference in jealous and reality.

Unless you're either in the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, or Pac 12, you can't act like you're any better. 05-nono And OSU's AD is an idiot, I knew that for a long time before he said something about MT.

Donna Shalala, Satan's handmaiden, goes right in there with them. While Neil Shapiro dangles a check juuuuust out of her reach no matter how much she hops on her little troll legs.

Memphis and Whoston are still in the same boat as MTSU. You get 1 BSC (BullShi*t Championship) pay out and then its back to the same access. So why the @#$$% would MTSU be jealous.

The 1st 4 CUSA teams to jump on the USS SinkingBigEast took a risk that didn't pay off.

Whoston and Memphis will always be redheaded step children. Whoston will never make it to the B12, the only ligit power conference that would accept Whoston and Memphis will never see the light of day in the ACC.

No $hit. And some folks are pretty sensitive about it. I got banned this morning from posting on the AAC Conference Talk board for the same response to a similar thread started by a Memphis fan (TIGERCITY). Derby is on the warpath. Kicked out of two boards, I'm on a roll.

"Whoston" and Memphis are not in an ideal situation but damn CUSA has it worse. I like CUSA but the fact is that it is still below AAC, and Marshall is back to its MACesque days. Well, at least you will be able win some ball games.

For a MTSU/Belmont fan you sure do post about Memphis a lot...

As a Memphis fan it's simple...the AAC pays better, has better competition, and better exposure.

I'd rather be associated with Cincy, UConn, Temple, USF, etc...over UTSA, FAU, FIU, ODU, MTSU, etc.

it's not what we thought we were getting into, but it's still better than the situation we were in.

Yeah. Let's have this freaking argument one more time 03-2thumbsup03-2thumbsup .

Because, honestly, there's a really good chance that some of us didn't get it all out of our system the first 14,000 times we teed this one up.
