Quote:And, talking down-the-line schedules, #NBC exec Jon Miller mentioned that #NotreDame will play #Louisville in yet-to-be-released 2014 slate.

This would be a NBC game.

That'll be a nice little roadtrip up US-31 for you guys. Terry how many seats does ND set aside for visitors?

Also: word of caution, do not smuggle liquor into the stadium.

Mark is correct.

ND has a very strict alcohol policy inside the stadium.

The ushers are on the lookout and if they see someone bringing booze in, they will toss them out immediately.

ND and Indiana Excise Police ( uniform and undercover) roam the tailgates and arrest lots of underaged drinkers.

Who do we replace?

Yeah, that's my question. I thought the 2014 ND/ACC schedule had already been set. Notre Dame at Cuse (Metlife Stadium), at FSU, home vs. NCSU, Pitt and VT

It wasn't set. The NCSU/VT games were rumors with no validation from TV execs (like Louisville) or school sites (FSU-warchant)

Might be that passed on playing at nd in 2014. They were already playing at Ohio state in 2014 as well with return date in Blacksburg in 2015". Then vt plays home and home with Wisconsin

Carolina's 2015 Ohio State game has been moved to 2018.

So you guys don't play OSU coming up until 2018? Sucks if true. I wanted to see Mitch Trubisky at QB playing Ohio State. I went to the same high school as Trubisky and the TE you guys are recruiting (Fritts plays WR in HS)

Trubisky looked really good in our spring game.

RE: Louisville vs Notre Dame 2014 - Ragu - 04-19-2013 11:36 AM

That is what I have heard. Is there any way to watch the replay on that anywhere? I couldn't find it on tv. Fritts is a very good and tough WR at the HS level as well. I see why they are putting him at TE in college because he is tall and isn't as a burner (although he isn't slow). Fritts is a great athlete as well. He was the main post player on Mentor's state champion basketball team this year.

Terry, I have a question: Looking at ND's schedule for 2014, you don't have any neutral site games scheduled (that ND controls). So is this going to be @ ND or the neutral site game? Or do the three games in NFL stadiums (Temple, Syracuse, and Navy) that likely allow ND fans to buy tix fillful that desire?

This is the schedule according to ND Nation (there are no official schedules beyond 2013 at und.com):

2014 Football Schedule

not official

S06 @ Navy
S13 PURDUE
S20 MICHIGAN
S27 SYRACUSE (Meadowlands)
O11 @ Temple
N08 PITTSBURGH
N15 NORTHWESTERN
N29 @ Southern Cal
STANFORD
@ Florida State
Louisville
1 games TBA

You are right, there is no "Shamrock Series" game on there. I don't think that the Syracuse, Temple or Navy games qualify as such (meaning that NBC will not be televising them, etc.).

I think that those are true road games controlled by the opponent (although ND Nation mistakenly lists the Syracuse game as a home game for ND).

This article from last August says that ND was going to have one off site "home game" each year through 2016, though none were announced after 2013:

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-08-16/sports/chi-with-chicago-next-notre-dame-shamrock-series-games-here-to-stay-20120816_1_miami-at-soldier-field-tyler-eifert-football-uniforms

I don't think that anyone has announced whether the Louisville game is at Notre Dame Stadium or will end up a neutral site, home game for ND (Lucas Oil Stadium??).

RE: Louisville vs Notre Dame 2014 - adcorbett - 04-19-2013 12:06 PM

yeah they are road games in terms of finances and TV. I just meant I didn't know if having three road games being in NFL stadiums with a larger capacity than the teams typical have at home (meaning tickets available for ND fans), and being on the East coast would satisfy the purpose of the Shamrock series, and they would just have a seventh home game. Seems to me the reason why they play @ Temple was the possibility of ND fans getting to go.

The spring game was on ESPN3 and the ACC digital network.

That was really the main reason to schedule Temple.

For some reason, ND prefers six home games and the neutral site "home game" than seven true home games.

Va Tech does the same thing. We've had a neutral site game every year since 2008 except for 2011, and prior to that we played the USC Trojans at Fedex Field in 2004. Also, during the last 6 seasons we've had only 6 home games 5 of those years (with 7 home games in 2010).

I wrote an article about neutral site games a couple of weeks ago and I didn't realize how much similarity there is between ND and VT scheduling.
