I doubt the purpose really wasn't to tell us that Pastner is recruiting --- note the mod changed the OP's title.

Dude EARNS $2 million a year. He also earned time off if he wishes to take it.

Actually he damn well better take some time off. I don't want someone earning that kind of cash and being responsible for that much being burned out.

Vacations, rest, relaxation. All are lubricants that heal the mind and body and (this is big...) make someone more effective at their job/career.

Overwork leads to diminishing returns. I hope JP (and every one else on this board) gets the RandR they need to remain affective and in the game.

The most powerful person in the world (the POTUS) takes vacations to recharge. By comparison, i think it is ok for a mere basketball coach to take days off. I worry about burn out.

exactly. We all need breaks. Humans weren't meant to work 18 hour days for weeks, months, years, on end...

I was in Orlando last week. The worst, most confusing and cluttered airport I have encountered. Spring Break may have had a little to do with the madness, but not all.

BTW, what jucos and/or transfers are in FL? Or it could be for a future class.

That's what I was wondering. Whats JUCO's are in Central Florida?

Good point, I should have added - I would hope he doesn't take days off nor should he take days off in these next few weeks.

Looks like College of Central Florida in Ocala won the JUCO National Championship this year. I guess he is looking at someone on that team.

RE: Pastner to Orlando [to recruit] - HoopDreams - 04-11-2013 12:50 PM

The only eligible bigs on that teams are Eugene McCrory, 6-8 260, who committed to UCF in February and Jeremiah Eason, 6-6 230, and cannot find anything about him, but that he originally committed to USF in 2011.

RE: Pastner to Orlando [to recruit] - OleManBlue - 04-11-2013 12:55 PM

From their website: Eugene McCrory, who helped lead the College of Central Florida men's basketball team to the NJCAA National Championship this past season, was named NJCAA Second-Team All-American. McCrory averaged 17.1 points, grabbed 6.5 rebounds and made 69.6 percent of his shots and helped the Patriots to a 34-3 record. The 6-foot-8, 260 lb forward also earned FSCAA Tournament MVP, as well as MVP of the NJCAA National Tournament. McCrory, who has committed to play at the University of Central Florida, scored in double figures in 34-of-36 games in 2012-2013.

They also have a 6'9" 215 lb center from Nigeria named Matthew Uchedike

RE: Pastner to Orlando [to recruit] - HoopDreams - 04-11-2013 12:57 PM

The guy from Nigeria is a freshman though, so might not be eligible unless he just went to a junior college to improve his skills.

If he takes off as much time as the president, I worry about the future of the men's basketball program...03-lmfao

Maybe he is looking for the next DJ here in Orlando. We can only hope and pray.

Pastner could be recruiting for 2014.
