Man. I'm going to miss DJ.

So what does our roster look like at the moment?

Jackson
Barton
Powell
Craft
Johnson
C. Crawford
M. Crawford
Wilson
King
Iverson
Goodwin
Nichols
Draper
Cole
Tsafack

*This is assuming that no one else leaves and everyone qualifies academically

I think the person that benefits from this the most is Damien Wilson, he will be the only wing player with any previous D1 experience. Lets hope Shaq realizes he can't get in foul trouble now or we are in trouble. Would be nice to have another frontcourt player.

Iverson and Powell will come down to the wire academically.

Hip doesn't need and shouldn't be on scholarship next year.

There are good rotation players available late.

As long as Joe comes back, they should be fine.

We will be extremely thin in the frontcourt, but loaded with guards and wings. We have to hope like hell that Nichols comes out of the gate strong and that Shaq gets focused and improves. Either way, Pastner will be forced to go with a four guard/wing line-up. That means he will have no other choice but to play fast and press nearly constantly.

Rebounding should easily be replaced

I agree with all that. Hipp is a total non-factor.

I also agree that everything comes down to Joe. If he leaves, it may be time to hit the panic button.

Recruiting isn't over yet and player transfers are just about to begin. We'll be fine as coach and staff always have contingency plans in place

We gonna be ok.

RE: Currently: 38% of scoring, 49% of rebounding is gone - WColt45 - 04-09-2013 09:43 AM

I think we will see a lot of:

Joe
C Crawford
Johnson
King/Iverson
Shaq/Nichols

Gonna have to go further into the bench if they want to be a pressing team. I think Wilson will see a great deal of time as well.

Wilson's ability to get to the rim and finish will be one of next years biggest surprises. He will definitely see plenty of action IMO as well.

Josh will bring in another quality big man and if PP does not qualify he may get two or add another true point guard to learn under JJ for a year. If there's one thing you cannot criticize JP for it's his ability to recruit.

Tigermaniac says this is the truth and TM knows Tiger basketball.

This is the commonly held belief on this board, at least.

I think Wilson can make a splash next season. I liked his tenacity on the boards for a guard.

There are pretty much no decent big men left to recruit out of high school for 2013. Maybe there is some guy from the JUCO ranks or a transfer. Most likely, the only two quality frontcourt players we will have next season will be Shaq Goodwin and Austin Nichols. That may be enough. It would be nice to have another guy to throw in there to pick up fouls and eat up some space.

Correct. JUCO or transfer. One transfers out another transfers in eh? Iverson could easily play the 4 if needed but I'm with you; we need another quality big. Goodwin and Nichols will be good but a three man rotation at the 4-5 would be much, much better. Go get us one Josh!

RE: Currently: 38% of scoring, 49% of rebounding is gone - BealeStreetTiger - 04-09-2013 12:23 PM

Looks like we will again play 2 guards, 2 wings, and 1 paint player. It will be especially interesting next season because the competition will be much better.

I thought Austin (at 200lbs) would be at the 4 spot but it appears he will have to play center along with Shaq. As of now frontcourt defense could be a real issue.

Vegas knows what they are doing. We are 6-7th in odds to win it all next year. You can put money down NOW. Not a projection.
