Welcome Tallgrass & Company!

Quote:Aresco said Tuesday he expects the league to have 11 schools in 2014.

Tulsa will leave Conference USA on July 1, 2014 to join the soon-to-be-renamed Big East along with East Carolina and Tulane. At that time, Rutgers and Louisville will leave for the Big Ten and ACC, respectively.

The addition of Tulsa, East Carolina and Tulane will give the league 11 members with Navy scheduled to join July 1, 2015.

When Navy joins, the league will be split into two six-team divisions and will hold a conference football championship, which will be televised on ESPN or ABC. The conference championship will be held at the stadium of the highest-rated division champion. The league has not decided how to split the divisions, a source said.

East-west would be an obvious way to go.

East: UConn, Temple, ECU, Navy, UCF, USF
West: Cincinnati, Memphis, Tulane, Tulsa, Houston, SMU

Well it's nice to finally have some direction. If you are not moving you aren't going anywhere.....Cheers to having a plan.... I would venture a guess this will involve an East and West division... and I think this will work out better than all the SDSU/ Boise State/BYU nonsense. This conference deserves the "Survival ESPY".

Yep, and I love that east division. Each one of those football games are against someone I am interested to see ECU play.

You could also make a case for a pseudo north-south:

North: UConn, Temple, Navy, Cincy, Memphis, ECU
South: UCF, USF, Tulane, Tulsa, Houston, SMU

Heck, you could still probably call that East-West, much like the SEC does.

Doubt Cincinnati would be pleased with being in the west.

Zipper is better:

UCF/USF
SMU/Houston
Tulane/Tulsa
Memphis/Cincy
ECU/Navy
UCONN/Temple

Sounds to me that the press conference on Tulsa/ECU all sports won't be held until the week after the NCAA tournament.

Probably a week later CUSA will announce its addition(s).

Gonna be fun to listen to Trollgrass. I might actually have to take him off ignore just to read how he deals with this.

I don't really see any scenario where Cincinnati, UConn and USF will be pleased.

Hope the league does not make decisions to try to please 1 school who is sending christmas cards to ACC presidents. Whatever makes the most sense for the league is what needs to be done. East/West makes the most sense. North/South puts the Texas and Florida schools all in 1 division and that's not good, and zipper just adds pointless travel costs.

Nice, but I wish they would have added So. Miss. That would have capped an awesome west division. Some history between those guys...

If a member leaves during the TV contract, I think Southern Miss is in....they just seem to fit with this group...especially if its UConn that leaves. As well, there is a remote possibility that Army could decide they want in at some point and in that case, the league probably goes to 14 FB and 12 all sports.

SMU, Houston, Tulsa, Tulane, Memphis

UConn, Temple, Cincinnati, ECU

I think these schools should be kept together. Then it becomes a decision to split the FLA schools or throw Navy west.

Throwing Navy west is probably the better option. They are a national school. It gives the Eastern teams the FL exposure for recruiting and it gives the others TX recruiting.
